Summary: THIS MANGA IS COMPLETELY AWESOME!!!
Review: This is one of the best manga I've ever read!!!! The story is very good. It's a little different than the anime series, but I like the manga better!!! I don't know why people are complaining about the translations though, if you're a tyical American that don't know Japanese it don't matter to you does it?!!! Anyway I'm just gonna' give you a little info on this manga, but don't worry I won't give away the whole book!!
This book starts out where, just like in the anime, Kamiya Kaoru attacks a rurouni (wanderer) because he's wielding a sword which is against the law, and also because a killer calling himself Hitokiri Battosai has been going on a murdering spree using Kaoru's family fighting style, Kamiya-Kashin-Ryu. 10 or 11 years ago in the bakamatsu, a warrior named Himura Battosai (nicknamed "Hitokiri" Battosai, because hitokiri is the Japanese word for assasin) killed people in the shadowy night for the Meiji government. It turns out the man Kaoru attacked was but a mere rurouni named Himura Kenshin (hmm). After finding out who the killer claiming himself to be Hitokiri Battosai is, Kenshin defeats him and his goons revealing himself to Kaoru as the real Hitokiri Battosai and uses the Battosai's signature fighting style Hiten-Mitsurugi-Ryu. Kaoru though, let's him stay at the dojo and he is known by Kaouru and his friends as Himura Kenshin.
After the first chapter which I just described Kenshin gets into more adventures involving an evil cop, a street thief, a fighter-for-hire, and more!!
To put in short, this book is very exciting, an excellent, story with excellent art, exellent fight scenes, and excellent humor. I advise you to buy it and buy all the other ones! It is most certainly worth every single penny!!!! ^_^

Summary: Great Storyline
Review: This is one of the best plots in any manga or animation. The theme caters both to the adult audience and the younger audience. Combine with the animation this series is a classic and a must have. The path of redemption is always hard, but to pair it with comedy makes it both serious and comedic in a way that it works. I would recommend this to any family.

Summary: ORO?
Review: This is the BEST of anime! I just got into RK a year ago! You learn history while laughing until you pee your pants! Kenshin is such a believable character that anyone could place themselves in his sandals and pretend they were the cute, red-headed samurai! You best buy this manga your I'll hunt you down, torture you, then cut off your head with my Sakabatou! (By the way, the only way to figure out what a Sakabatou is, is to read the book before I get to you!)

Summary: Kenshin ROCKS!!!
Review: This volume of Kenshin, along with all others, Samuri X, the ova's and the anime, are all awesome. "ORO" Is one of my favorite phrases now!!
Kenshin will make girls smile with his nature, and guys will love the fighting action.

Summary: Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 1
Review: This was the very first Manga book I have bought and I must admit that I was very happy with my purchase. I ended up purchasing Vol 1&2 at the same time. The storyline and characters both grabbed me and forced me to read through both of the books in a matter of two and a half hours. Even though I've read the books I still believe I will read through them many more times in the future. Anyhow, if you like anime and manga I really think you should check out Nobuhiro Watsuki's work as he has done an extremely good job putting this series together.

Summary: It gets better
Review: Two meanings: this book is better than the last, and the upcoming books get even better than this. VIZ so far is doing a great job, but they keep cutting off the bottom edges of the panels and they call the HIRUMA brothers HIMURA in the beginning. I found one translation mistake, when Kaoru says, "He hit Hiruma!" in the beginning of Act 8. And if it's not a mistake, it definitely doesn't make any sense.

Summary: The start of the greatest manga story ever...
Review: Well, okay, maybe it's not the greatest, but it's definitely a top 5 (but #1 on my list with Blade of the Immortal as #2). I know this may sound cheesy, but I consider reading and understanding the Kenshin story in its entirety a major event in my growing up process.

Kenshin is about rising above pain and despair and about doing what's right and not what's easy. It's about making your own decisions and following your own truth. It's profound, but it's also light hearted and funny...because that's how life is.

Anyway, so onto the first volume. We have Kenshin who's been wandering for some time finding Karou. A former student at Karou's dojo has been killing and shaming her dojo's name. They confront each other, and Karou is saved by Kenshin. They are joined in a bond by the ideal they share: that a sword and swordmastery are meant to protect life. Kenshin essentially moves in, and together they meet up with some their future friends: Yahiko and Sano. Along the way, Kenshin's friends and the readers find out more about Kenshin's ideals and beliefs...and somehow, they just feel right...

And so Kenshin's story begins...

Summary: And so we come to Aoshi...
Review: With the Jinne incident over, Kenshin and his friends have become a bit closer. Defeating a mass murderer usually does that... Soon enough though, Kenshin meets Megumi, who's running from her own problems. Kenshin, being a kindred soul and sensing goodness in her, decides to protect her.

When Megumi's "employer" sends his posse to retrieve her, they encounter some difficulties. In their attack on the dojo, we see a little more into the relationships between the characters. Kenshin inspires great loyalty with his kindness and willingness to stand in harms way for the sake of others. He may act clumsy and aloof, but he actually sees much and understands and appreciates much. Because of this, Karou, despite knowing him for just a short time, has great faith in him and as with the others, will stand by him. Megumi came to Kenshin just because she saw he was wearing a sword, but through this incident, she begins to see him in a new light.

Things, however, get a little more complicated, as they always do, but I'll leave that alone. The story moves forward and remember that the whole Kenshin story is ten times better than any individual part.
