Summary: The 1st story arc of the greatest comic book ever!
Review: This book contains the 1st 8 issues of The Sandman comic book, introduces Dream & Death, and includes cameos of Justice League members. A fantastic new mythology for the 20th century!

Summary: The amazing story that begins a trip into the dreamworld
Review: A comic book it may be, but this is not your ordinary comic book. Within the pages are more power and compassion then you will find in almost any novel. Its fantastic illustration is only bettered by its thought-provoking story line. It begins you on a journey into the mind of Morphius, the eternal of dreams, and when you get off at the end you WILL be thinking about it for a long time. It takes you from a demonic circle in the 1910's to the bowels of Hell to battle a demon, to Arkham (an insaine asylum), as the Morphius searches to gather his tools, which were stolen from him, and finally you meet his sister, Death, at the profound anticlimax.

It's an amazing series, and check out _Preludes and Nocturnes_ before you read the other books - you'll understand them better. Don't miss it!

Summary: A great start!
Review: A fabulous start to what would later become one of the greatest graphic novel series of all time. Preludes and Nocturnes displayed all the possible directions the story could take, though Gaiman finally found his voice for the series in the famed "Sound of Her Wings" episode, featuring a meeting between Dream of the Endless and his sister, Death. Preludes and Nocturnes is one of the most disturbing of the series, due mainly to the episode "24 Hours," but the writing and the art are still beautiful. This book, with its very apt title, is a prelude to a story of transformation, and is the first chapter in a story about stories. This is definitely dark fantasy, and it's not a book for people who can't stand horror. Amazing work, the first of a set of ten masterpieces....

Summary: the start of something big...
Review: Although not the greatest (of course not) of the SANDMAN books, certainly a fitting start to the rest of the stunningly great series. Contains the disturbingly great "24 hours" (a parable on stories and their authors) and the significant, touching, therapeutic "The Sound of Her Wings" (featuring the peachy keenness that is Death). The Sandman himself behaves more like a superhero in this storyline than he does in any of the others, but it serves the purpose of planting the seeds. Plus, it's fun to read and to look at.

Summary: Gaiman with yet another masterpiece
Review: This book, like most tpb's in the Vertigo line was a sheer work of art. One of my favorite writers (Gaiman) weaved yet another fantastic tale. On the fantasy and horror aspects of this book I reccomend it to anyone who wants to be wowed.

Summary: Sandman, bring me a dream
Review: There's no words to discribe it. Sandman is just wonderful. This is also, in my opinion, the one with the best graphic work. Dream looks just "right" (or is it left?). The story is oneyou want to go on and on on... When I finished it I just immediatly began to re-read it.

Review: This is one of those stories that makes you run out for the next one. Neil Gaiman is a beautiful writer.

Summary: The start of a wonderful trip...
Review: This is the first trade paperback of the Sandman series. It's well written, well drawn, and as soon as you begin you'll be hearing Dream's dark dark voice inside your head. It's the kind of voice you can swear you can hear, for just a second, and then it's gone. Not many comics can be so real. The use of mythology, psychology, and history blend perfectly to create the most fantastic world. I read this comic in one sitting and it was painful to come to the last page - I just didn't want it to ever end! You'll feel the same way.
