Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: !!!!! Review: Bill Watterson has compiled many of the best Calvin and Hobbes comics in one book, but moreover he has explained the characters, his philosophies and the business of cartooning in this installment no self-respecting C&H fan should be without.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book gives insight to the "whys" of Calvin and Hobbes Review: I was very sorry to read about Mr. Watterson's troubles with his strip, but it was interesting to read about how he created his characters and what he thought of them. (I was surprised to read that he didn't think much of the Sunday strip where Calvin imagines he's a god. That's one of my all-time favorites!) I wish that Mr. Watterson would create a Sunday-style page whenever the inspiration struck him -- and when he has enough for a book, put them together and publish them. I'd gladly buy it!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The REAL Essential Calvin & Hobbes Review: Bill Watterson has created a smart, insightful, and often hilarious look at his always entertaining comic strip, Calvin & Hobbes. This book is more than a collection of strips. It is a in-depth look into the world of cartooning. Watterson displays great intellignece in his viewpoints on copyrighting, merchandising, and the formatting of the Sunday Strip, which he fought to change so that he wouldn't be hindered by a confining format. He also gives you detailed biographies of the characters in his strips and some of the influences behind them. Of course, the book is packed with some of his greatest strips, along with commentary about why certain strips were included in this collection. He shows some of his personal favorite strips (including a classic series where Calvin hires Hobbes to cut his hair with hilarious results) and uses strips to illustrate his points. This is a must-have for anyone who loves Calvin and Hobbes and a great book for anybody who is fascinated by the world of cartooning.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great job on this one!!! Review: This book is the first Calvin and Hobbes book I ever got. I like the history captions and the comics as well. A very good book for anyone who likes Calvin and Hobbes!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hysterical! Review: All of the Calvin & Hobbes books are great. They give us a view into the mind of a slightly strange but endering six year old, his hungry and philospher like tiger, along with his parents, his next door neigbor Susie, and Moe the school bully along with anyone else they happen to come across. The drawings are very strange if you compare them to the latest ones but that doesn't make them any less funny. Calvin & Hobbes is and always will be one of my favorite strips and I am very sad that Bill Watterson has stopped creating them. Bill, if you're reading this, please let Calvin & Hobbes have more adventures. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
