Summary: Great comics, great commentary
Review: Bill Watterson picks out some of his finest cartoons for this book, which would be reason enough to buy it. The additional commentary, though, makes it by far the best Calvin and Hobbes book. It was interesting to see what Mr. Watterson thought of his various characters, how he came up with different ideas and what he found interesting in certain stories. This book just confirmed to me that Calvin and Hobbes is one of the funniest, most original and most meaningful comics in recent years. It was interesting to hear about what Mr. Watterson is like as a person, as he reveals some of his personal interests and opinions through the commentary. Finally, finding out the background for Spaceman Spiff, Tracer Bullet, Miss Wormwood and the other Watterson inventions was interesting. Definitely worthwhile to buy, read and then read again and again.

Summary: This Book Rules!!!!!!!
Review: The 10th Anniversary C&H book is awesome because: a. it has strips from every other book that had been written before (at that time) and had reasons why Mr. Watterson wrote the strip. b. the cover's really neat. Mr. Watterson really expressed Calvin and Hobbes on this particular cover. c. this book is thick and has more than just comic strips in it, it also has some sentence reviews about the strip (AKA why Bill wrote it, what he thinks about it now, etc.) d. it has both duplicator stories and the strips with different formats than the originals.

Summary: Real Good !
Review: I love this comic strip, and this book is the perfect opportunity to enter Calvin's world. It gives you also the point of vue of the author and his fight against the merchandising of his heroes...but still I wouldn't mind buying a hobbes puppet....

Summary: Loads of fun! (more for adults than children)
Review: Perhaps two of the most memorable cartoon characters of all time are Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes. They are the hands: Both equal and opposite. Calvin represents the capitalist, greedy, selfish; yet sweet and caring side of humanity, whereas Hobbes represents the naturist, placid observer, the thinker and the pacifist. Watterson has expressed his opinions about humanity, politics, economics, society and religion through these characters ingeniously, and with that providing a lot of laughs for us, mere mortals. Worth reading!

Summary: You should be made to read this book!!
Review: An excellent collection of the earliest Calvin and Hobbes strips, containing the first strip published, Uncle Max(a defunct character who appeared for only a few strips), and pads on Hobbes' forepaws. As for the quality of the strips, it's Bill Watterson. He is infallible. He can't write a bad strip.

Summary: Should be 10 stars **********
Review: This book is the early Bill Watterson Calvin & Hobbs. I think this book is real good because it has a mix of all Bill's work. It has some of his funniest stuff. I mean it when I say funniest especially when Calvin crashes into a tree on his sled and fly's into the sky. It is halarious!! By Brandon Dukes 9 years old.

Summary: So wonderfulQ
Review: Ny eight-year-old son and his stuffed tiger (I'll bet you can't guess what the tiger's name is) really enjoyed this book, which contains the first strip, when Calvin catches Hobbes in a tiger trap (with a tuna fish sandwich as bait). A spirited and hilarious collection.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: This book is the collection of the first Calvin and Hobbes cartoons, the one that started the wonderful cartoon of Calvin and Hobbes, and if a critic were judging the entire series of books by this one, this wouldn't be the last one they read at all.
