Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: So much fun! (a French fan) Review: I must admit I'm completely fan of Watase's epic manga : it gathers humour, adventure and drama! Even when the plot gets darker Watase manages to take it lightly by inserting some hilarious parodies of the story itself! very daring! I bought the first volume to try then the six others and I could'nt stop reading it, it just gets better and better... I can't wait the next one to be released! ;) The only hic! : it's a pity we don't have a french version of this great edition! ok ok I'm not complaining :p En bref un manga à savourer !!! :D

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: yu watase is a goddess Review: I'm an avid anime fan, and I read manga, and I think Yu Watase has created the most beautiful, adventurous, romantic graphic novel's i have ever read in my life. I may be totally biased, but it's a fantastic and unique concept, which of course has been done before, but have the characters ever taken a life of their own like they have? Any reader can identify with at least one of the characters, they have so much life and truth, it's unbelievable. She makes you question your life, truth and values, and no one has really ever been able to do that to me. Yes, I am mildly obsessed, but I adore and love these graphic novels, and I recommend them to everyone!

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: FY Uncut please. Review: Yes, this book is fun to read... However, not only are the scans not up to par in some pages but (here was a shocker for me) THE CHAPTER TITLE PAGES WERE MISSING!!!!!!! EVERY ONE! Instead of this, they just put the chapters title right into the manga on the first scene. Yuu Watase usually puts an establishing shot (such as trees) in the first frame, and they put the chapter title there instead of using her cover pages. I was really angry when I saw this and I will reconsider buying the rest of this manga. It is already very expensive and they do this sort of thing to save themselves money. I will put this review for each book that I have. I encourage people not to review this translation so highly because manga should be uncensored when it comes into publication in english. Note: After complaining to Viz, I am happy to report that the end result is a newer publication of FY which has all the pages. Thanks viz!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fushigi Yugi, Volume 1: Priestess... A Great Buy! Review: Priestess is the first book in the Fushigi Yugi series. My opinion on this book- a great buy! The reasons I like this book are because: It has humor- Miaka loves food! No matter what the crisis, you can always count of Miaka's appitite to get the better of her! It has action- Although the action sequences can be quite short, there a pretty many of them to satisfy a semi-action fan. If you really like action, I would suggest Magic Knight Rayearth. It has romance- I don't really care to read about romance. At some points in this book, the romance got a little too mushy for me. There was nothing inappropriate except for the few times there was nudity or partial nudity. It didn't last for more than a page, so I wouldn't really worry about it. And, some sadness- When you think about it, Miaka's life is pretty hard. She only has one parent, her mom, who she's trying to go to this really hard school for, and she hardly has any time for herself because she's going to cram school, too. Also, certain things that happen during the story make it somewhat sad. And now, for my last words, I will say what I liked/disliked about the author, Yu Watase. Just to clear things up, Yu Watase is a woman. Nevertheless, she writes awesome stories! The pictures are some of the best I've ever seen. Since I'm terrible at art, lots of drawings amaze me, but Yu Watase's are just cool! The way she can draw Miaka's face when she's stuffing herself with food, angry because Nuriko just played another joke on her, or determined to find all seven constellations of Suzaku-You'll understand this when you read the book- is just amazing! I didn't like the columns on the side of some of the pages. It was for the author to write comments. Some of the things she wrote were pointless. I don't bother read them anymore because I think it takes away from the story, especially when you're at a suspenseful part! Believe me- when you start reading this book, you'll understand right away, "This is no silly picture book! It's an ever-exciting, always entertaining, and just plain awesome book!" After buying all 6, (which is how many I think are out) I have had no regrets. I'm really glad I bought them all. Believe me, they're worth the money! One suggestion: If you're going to buy them, make sure you have at least Volume 2 close by because when you're finished because you'll want to read it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Book 4 kicks...!!! Review: *Out of all the manga I read from this series, I like this one the best cause of Tasuki. Tasuki is my favorite character cause, he's always sarcastic and is always ready to kick... But its all good! Fushigi Yugi is serious must have for the anime otaku (otaku- japanese word for obsessed fan).
