Summary: stunning
Review: Fushigi Yuugi is one of the best stories I've read to date. Incredible artwork and a great plotline hold the reader's attention to the end, and you should read it and see why! This book gets the HIGHEST reccomendation that I can ever give! Fans of Sailor Moon or other shojo comics should DEFINITELY take a look!

Summary: A story of heroics and love
Review: I have been a huge fan of the show since Pioneer released it in '98 and have also followed it in Animerica Extra. This is a wonderful sotry about friendship, love, betrayal, and destiny. Also the lead male, Tamahome is really cute ^_^. What would you do if you were transported to another world and found out you were the Suzakonomiko, or Priestess of Suzaku? And that the fate of the Konan empire was left on your shoulders, not to mention in order to be the priestess you must remain chaste...and your're in the process of falling in love? What would you do if someone told lies to your best friend and managed to turn her against you? And she tries as hard as she can to pay you back for your betrayal. This is a wondeful stroy line and Yû Watase is a wonderful artist and writer. Give it a shot-y ou'll find you will enjoy it

Summary: Romantic
Review: This book was very romantic and entertaining! I really liked the action parts, since there was usually a lot of romance mixed in with them. I do think that some parts were unnessecary and simply used to add some inappropriate content to the book. Being that I love romance, this was one of the best Japanese comics I've ever read! For me to truly enjoy romance manga (and I know I've said this before) the main boy has to be someone that I would like if I was a manga character. Tamahome reminded me of Darien from "Sailor Moon", risking his life to save the main girl! It was those parts that I enjoyed most.

Overall, if you love romance and Japanese comics, I recommend this to you! It is very absorbing and enjoyable! But keep in mind that there IS unnessecary content such as Tamahome walking in on Miaka when she's shirtless.

Summary: Ehhh....
Review: I own all the anime and am currently working my way through the manga. I just love this series, even though Miaka can be annoying. All the other characters make up for that! In this volume, Miaka is helped by someone she thought had died, and she is found by a Seiryu Celestial Warrior. Miaka ran away from Tamahome in the previous book (it seems like she's always running off - she really should learn better communication skills), because she thinks she is no longer a virgin, capable of being Priestess of Suzaku. Watase's artwork is beautiful, and I love the comments sections that she occaisionally adds on the side. There are even a few (only a few, so don't get your hopes up) extras in the book, such as a "What's so fushigi about Fushigi Yuugi?" comic strip. This volume is fairly late in the series, so I would recommend reading some of the earlier volumes first, but this series is really very good.
