Summary: Amazing.
Review: This is one of the most AMAZING manga's I have ever read. The plot, lush and bright, captures the attention of anyone willing to sit down and become attached. Though aimed more toward young women, it can appeal to anyone. If you've seen the video series, you should be warned the plot in the manga is a little different than the movies, though it doesn't lessen the quality at all. Simple stunning.

Summary: The Most Beautiful Shoujo Manga
Review: Fushigi Yuugi is a very impressive example of Japanese Shoujo (Girls') manga. I think that both guys and girls can enjoy this series though, as it has left a huge impression on my anime and manga fandom and possibly my future art career. The story/plot is amazing and complicated and always always always interesting! You can't help but love all of the characters because their personalities and character designs are so well developed. Yuu Watase's gorgeous artwork is definitely reason enough to buy this book if not for the wonderful story it tells. This English version of the first manga volume I really appreciate because they have translated Yuu Watase's little sidenotes and comments that are written in the book. They are as much fun to read as the manga itself! She certainly is a wonderful artist and manga author, and I also reccommend that everyone watch the anime! This series is my favorite, and once you read it and watch it, you'll know why. :)

Summary: Fushigi Yugi is great for an Inu-Yasha Fan!
Review: It all started with Sailor Moon. Then I went to Dragon Ball to Drangon Ball Z. After that, I started to get in Pokemon and Inu-yasha. Now, the newest collection to my addition of Japanese Anime and Manga is Fushigi Yugi! This is has the same idea as Inu-yasha except twisted a bit. A girl is accidentally taken to the distant past. She is a priestess to all the people and there is the powerful male protector who has a little demon inside. It is actually a totally different story from Inu-yasha. The only similarity is that it has a girl sent to the past and finds that she is needed by a group a superstitious (and gossiping) villagers. Then of couse there is or are a few protectors that she falls in love with or at least tries to make peace with. This is a great book and I couldn't put it down.

Summary: Perfect for graphic novel (and anime!) fans - but watch out!
Review: Before I begin... I've read all ? books (U'll see!) and own all ? books in the original Asian format. NEways, I've read the English version and the translation is pretty good -- not to mention the characters and story plot. Oh yeah...and I love Tasuki! *winks* But though the story is pretty tame so far, it gets pretty "wild" later on. I won't spoil the plot, but here's a fair warning: This series was intended for the more mature audiences. If I had to rate it the "American" way, it would be at MINIMUM, PG-13. If a person is impressionable, I would up it a notch. The anime should definitely be rated higher at the NR. Fushigi Yuugi is a wonderful story and Watase Yuu can really draw, but the story is definitely not an everyday fairy tale for children. Parents: DO NOT buy this for young and impressionable children!

Summary: AMAZING ART WORK!
Review: I LOVED this book! I heard about Fushigi Yuugi from an internet friend and although I've never seen the actual anime, I looked it up on the web, learned the whole story, fell in love with all the characters, and then this book. I can't wait till the next so I read about TASUKI! (Incase you can't tell, he's my fave seishi!)

Review: This book was fabulous! I loved it!The style that Yu Watase uses in this is one of the best I've seen. The plot is great. It's unique, but still retains the basic fantasy elements.I can't wait to read the next one!For those who love manga, this offers a different but effective art style along with an interesting plot. This is a MUST-BUY!

Summary: Maiagara Suzaku! (i.e. soar Suzaku)
Review: Fushigi Yugi by Yu Watase-sama is excellent! It ranks up with Naoko Takeuchi-sama's Sailor Moon or Kosuke Fujishima's Oh! My Goddess or even Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2 (even though Ranma 1/2 is a totally different genre).

MAIAGARA SUZAKU.....MIRACLE LAAAAAAAA!
