Rating: Summary: Definitely a recommended manga! Review: If you are interested in manga, I would definitely recommend Fushigi Yuugi; in a lot of ways, it reminds me of Sailor Moon, but only because the main character is a young girl studying for her entrance exams. Other than that, the storylines are very different. This manga (Priestess) is the first in the series, and it introduces Miaka and her friends, so this is definitely the one to get if you are interested. I'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed in this manga; it's very funny and entertaining and the artwork is beautiful!
Rating: Summary: FY...*drools* Review: ohhh.. i love this series.. Watase Yuu is a genius...the artwork is incredible and the story fantastic! i'd give it 200 stars if i could! the animated version is great too! this has to be my most fav of all anime! if you like smart bad guys, i mean really smart powerful bad guys and friend against friend.. this series is it! the main character is Miaka(she takes after sailormoon-sort of!).. she finds a book about anicent China and gets sucked in..then cause she wants the power of getting her wish...she agrees to become the Priestess of Suzaku(a god of the country she's in). little does she know what she's getting into...heeheehee...this book will make you want more. i know and i've seen the animated verison and i'm still gonna get the manga. oh, and by the way, the manga shows you things the video don't..but the video is still fantastic...
Rating: Summary: Incredible Review: I found this by chance at borders and bought it right away, it was really great to get a little more information on character motivation, and some more explaination about the whole uniform thing. This is one of my favorite anime's of all time, and the manga is exceptional quality, it even has author comments every chapter or so, which is way cool.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful story that goes along with wonderful art Review: I've been a fan of Fushigi Yuugi ever since one of my friends introduced me to it. Now I own three volumes, plus the 1st and 2nd OAVs....and still can't get enough of it. The TV series is different from the manga, the events in it are either switched around, or changed entirely. This volume covers volume 2 and the first part of volume three, and the art compliments the story well. Though I frowned a little bit when Viz used the Chinese names for most of what the TV series used the Japanese names for, I still enjoyed it very much. I cannot wait until "Disciple" comes out.
Rating: Summary: Fushigi Y¿gi? Yaaay! Review: Lessee... Fushigi Yugi is one of the most most well written, beautifully drawn, and whole-heartedly funnyandsadandadventurousanddramaticatthesametime mangas I have ever read, and that's saying something. The only artists who parallel and surpass Watase-san's lovely, flowing, and occasionally cute artwork are CLAMP. Go Watase!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD! Review: I thought that this was the MOST AWSOME BOOK! I adore it! My friend Liz bought it and she was passing it around the class. I was fortunately only the third to read it. The only problem is waiting for the second book to get here! Any way, I thought that Tomahome was a "hottie" and that Hotohori was a sweetie. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that I could only order it and not just buy it right away! It was an easy reading (not too easy) but a very advanced book at the same time. The nice thing about it as well is that not only girls enjoy it (like sailor moon (nothing against Sailor Moon) but some of the boys in my class enjoyed it too! Any way, got to call my friend and see if she's gotten the second book yet!

Rating: Summary: An enjoyable shoujo manga! Review: Watase Yû's Fushigi Yûgi, long a fan favorite in the United States, finally enjoys commerical translation. Originally printed in Japan by publishing giant, Shougakukan under its shoujo manga imprint, "Flower Comics", Fushigi Yûgi ran to a respectable total of 18 compiled volumes. Like most of the shoujo manga that have achieved commerical translation in the United States, Fushigi Yûgi stars a normal, everyday girl that finds herself hurled, in this case, bodily, into a world of magic. The story that ensues is charming, poignant, and, at times, delightfully comic. All shoujo manga focuses upon the human relationships that affect a person's life, and Watase Yû does it beautifully in this, one of her most popular manga. Overall, it is a solid shoujo manga appropriate for a US audience. Viz Communications, the US imprint of Shougakukan, does Fushigi Yûgi justice, lovingly translating jokes and declarations of love and loyalty with equal delicacy. The grammar is good, and the register is consistent, making for a pleasant and unobtrusive reading. In fact, the romanizations of most Chinese words are romanized as Chinese words, not Japanese words, in agreement with Watase Yû, adding to cultural flavor of the tale. The intended audience is clearly middle school girls, but people of all ages can enjoy Fushigi Yûgi. Still, it is worth mentioning that I dislike the final volumes of this lengthy series as the soft porn contained therein is downright distasteful. However, American readers will not have to concern themselves with the weak end of Fushigi Yûgi for a long, long time yet and can continue to enjoy the story at its lovely and early best.
Rating: Summary: A really great series... Review: I just happened to buy this one a couple of weeks ago because I had some extra money, and I've gotta say, I'm hooked. I already read the second one as well and can't wait for a third. Anyone would like this! It's funny and romantic.
