We were reading it all together and gasping and yelling omigod!! this was a very charming book, getting inside on the real feelings of an emotional teenager who refuses to share her reasons for being this way. Eventually she realizes that shutting up won't do anything, and a painful event makes the world believe, and forgive her.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I was laughing...... and then I was crying... Review: I like witty and sadistic senses of humor. I guess thats why I liked this book.I wouldn't have ever read it. I always get a bunch of books from my aunt and uncle. Some of them really suck, but some of them weren't bad. I can honestly say, I wasn't very excited about this one. It didn't intrigue me. But seeing as I was bored out of my mind, I read it any way. I don't regret picking it up. Melinda is hillarious, but not rightly so... I can't tell you the ending..... otherwise you would get mad at me. and i cant have people mad at me, so I won't tell you. So lets just put it this way, discoveries at the end, bring you to tears. Any book that can throw that many emotions at you, is worth reading. And this one definitely is
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Speak, One of the best teen books I've read! Review: This book is full of emotion, passion, love, hate and every item that pulls you into a book. You read it once you're addicted!I've read it twice. I'm speechless. This book is so amazingly good. It will make you laugh and cry. Speaks dark sense of humor is wonderful. The way the author wrirtes makes Melinda seem so real. The expression of Melindas thoughts and feelings sucks you in from the heart. All the detail creates a vivid image in your mind of "Melinda's" life and her surroundings. I would love to see a sequal, or prequal, of Speak come out. I was so sad when I was done, I didn't want to put it down. I savored every moment of this truly great peice of literature! :)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Eerie humor, moving, and triumphant. Review: This book deals with a young girl's life after a terrible ordeal she had to experience. Anderson writes this book in first person and the voice of this book is bitterly funny and one that shadows pain and confusion. I would recommend this book to anyone. Nobody should pass up this book and not experience what the protagonist goes through and the triumph she achieves at the end. Astonishing is the word for this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: READ THIS BOOK!!! Review: It is the best book for high schoolers who want to read a book about a high school possibly worse than yours. Melinda is a strong character, even though her voice isn't heard till the end, she still stands all throughout freshman yr...hey you, yes you, u have to read this book...!!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Speak Review: I actually thought the book was good and it kept me interested the whole way through, but to me, the girl seemed like a depressed, gothic, careless girl. I couldn't relate to the story easily, and I felt the story had no plot. On the back of the book, it says about how she messed up a party in the summer, and now she has no friends at all. Then it tells me in the book that's she's speechless and stutters, and never speaks. I felt that neither of these things gave it a real story; with a conflict and resolution, and all that.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Listen to Speak Review: In this book, Mel is a tortured teen going through High School harder than anyone else due to a haunting past. Throughout the book you are given clues to a living nightmare from one night and when you finally figure out the secret she's so closely kept, you won't regret it. This was a good book and I've read it more than once.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of my top 10! Review: I am reading Speak for the second time since last year. It is so real! I love how Melinda lables things, and the way the author does dialoge! I totally reccomend it!
