Summary: Speaking About the Book "Speak"

Speaking About the Book "Speak"
The book Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, is a fiction book about the main character, Melinda, going through the tough first year at Merryweather high school, in Syracuse, with almost no friends and a deep dark secret. Melinda sits on a bus alone and ex-best friend is sitting with the exchange students. At lunch she meets heather another main character that becomes her best friend. In science she has a lab partner who is part of the little genus club his name is David he is also her best friend. Two other characters that play an important role is Mr. Freeman who is her art teacher and Andy a hottie as Rachael calls him. Andy is part one conflict of Melinda's and another conflict that Melinda has is trust with others and speaking about her problems.

The plot is that Melinda was trying to do the right thing but she did not know what the outcome would be, and because of her taking a risk no one will get to know will her. This plot leads to the one of the themes of the novel. The theme of this novel is you should always speak your mind no matter what happened. Another theme is that you always know who your real friends are. My opinion oaf this book is it is a very sad, heartwarming story about a teenager trying to find her way through a very tough situation. I would rate this book 4-5.

Summary: Speak your mind.
Review: After reading this, I felt really proud of who I was as a person and as a girl. The courage and the strength of the main character's words can be felt coursing through your veins. She had such a poignant and profound voice that made her such a creatively, interesting heroine. You understand the power of her silence and the urgency to find herself again. There's so much to be heard and said when you want someone to look at you and know that there's something wrong, but you don't have the heart. It's such a rewarding story with a tremendous amount of spirit. It's such a universal novel and yet so small but with a huge impact.

Summary: Speak
Review: Speak is a great book but I would not reccomend it to any one who is younger than 10. Some parts are a little hard to accept. I laughed at parts and felt sorry for Melinda in others. Melinda is a true geek in the 9th grade. She is completely friendless and a little shy. I don't want to give away the ending so I will stop there. Speak is one of my favorite books. I just finished reading it and I love every part of it.

Review: I must tell you about this fantastic book that I just got finish reading. This book is about a 15 year old girl name Melinda Sordino. Melinda school year is not off to the most wonderful start. All of her former friends hate her because what happened over the summer. Melinda begins her freshman year of high school completely alone. Her emotional wounds of the summer have left her unable to express herself; she is emotionally dead. As the school year goes on she becomes more and more silent, unable to open up about what happened over the summer. When "IT" approaches her in the hallways, she can't handle her fears and emotions. Melinda's only way out is art class, where she is free to be herself and is learning to express her emotions through art. As Melinda's artwork grows, so does her need to tell someone what happened to her. When she finally finishes her project, she is ready to speak her mind, and able to tell what happen to her on that night of the party.
, doesn't this sounds like an excellent book. This book is known as SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson's . This book is the best book I ever read in my life .
I strongly recommend this book to you , because this book describes how a teenage girl handles an unthinkable thing that happen to her. I love how Laurie Halse Anderson's wrote this book because you can actually see what Melinda is going through. I also love this book because the message it sent out to me is that nobody can speak for you, but you. No matter what happens in your life trust the voice within you. .Sometimes you have to speak up for yourself, because you might help someone.

, I know that you will adore this book, because it's like a belonging and self-delusion, kind of a book. It shows how Melinda is not fitting in, and how she think that she has no purpose in this world. In the begging of the book I thought that Melinda has low self-steam, but when I started to read more and more of the book , I notice that her self-steam started to increased. She started to become more positive than negative, and that why I think you will love this book because you can related to her.
My favorite part of the book is when Melinda tells you what happen on the night of the party. She tell you in great details. You can actually picture your-self there at the party. You can feel what she is feel. You feel scare, hurt, worry, sorrow, and mad all at the same time. You don't know what you would have done if you were Melinda at the night of the party. Words can't descried what happen to her, unless you read the book.
I don't mean to ruin the book for you, but you still can read it because I'm not going to tell you what happens to her, but wait there's more.
I know you like books with guys, and love, and stuff like that. This isn't a book like that. But as I said before, you will fall in love with this book. SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson's was given 5 out of 5 stars. The publishers weekly said that "Speak will hold reader from first word to last." And they were right!
I love the way Laurie Halse Anderson's title this book. Speak, because Melinda has to speak at loud before "IT" hurts her former friend. Melinda former friends name is Rachel, but she like to be call Rachell. Rachell is dating "IT", and "IT", might hurt Rachell like he hurt Melinda. So, that why Melinda has to speak

I must warn you that once you read this work of art, you will be unable to put it down. You will be too in to the mystery to put it down. This book will keep you on your toes from the moment you pick it up.

Summary: Speak review
Review: I would recommend Speak to any young adults that prefer books dealing with teen issues. It is a captivating book that keeps your attention, while presenting a meaningful theme for young people. Older readers may not enjoy this book, because the narrator, Melinda, talks and thinks like a teenager. People that do not even remember their teenage days may not be able to relate to a book like Speak. For young women that are having trouble dealing with their emotions, this is an influential book that may help you open up. You will learn about stereotypes and symbolization, but the book is not at all too hard to follow. If you enjoy books that affect your emotions and make you think, then Speak is definitely your kind of book.

Summary: Speak
Review: I read this book as an assignment for my high school English class. I didn't really expect it to be that good because most of the books we have to read are boring. This book was a nice change though. It was funny at times but other times it really made you think. At times it was kind of hard to read because it was kind of dark. Overall, though, I really liked it and I would recomend it.

Summary: Silence is Deadly
Review: This book is an outstanding tribute to rape survivors. It is also a victory for outcasts. Anderson writes the truth of high school and the cliques that are found within them. The very essence of hatred for people is protrayed to the point of bringing back unhappy feelings of high school within us. Anderson has written in many comic relief passages. She allows the narrator to speak to the reader, which in turns allows the reader to actually laugh out loud. The development of Melinda's character triggers the emotion of the reader. Many readers will be able to empathize with the character of Melinda and what she had to to through her freshman year. This book should be read by all freshmen, so they may come to empathize with other students instead of making fun of them. The theme of acceptance, determination, and survival is eminent. The lesson learned is of many and one major lesson to be learned is to stand up to fears and confront them--bottling up emotions only causes more harm. This book is complelling and an emotional read. Teenagers need more books like this novel and parents and teachers need to become familiar with new novels that could possibly help students deal with yound adult issues. Although, the classics are great more developmental books are needed to better understand the thoughts and the feelings of young adults.
