Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: It's good for those that know how to draw. Review: I give this book 4 stars because the tutorials are good, but they arent really the best for beginners. I recommend this book to any manga artist. This book has some nudity in it,but it's censored to keep it appropriate for teen artists.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Far from the Best Review: I got this book when i got into drawing and was disgusted to find it did'nt really help me at all. I only gave it two stars because it gives you a few examples to look at if you really need them. and if your gonna draw something more for an ADULT kind of cartoon. There was more on how to draw breasts in diffrent postions and how it'd look with diffrent hands holding it then how to draw legs and arms. combined. it's alright if your deperate. but don't waiste your money otherwise.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Not for beginners Review: I picked up this book at a comic shop and haven't been disappointed. This book is not for those just getting into drawing manga however. I've read there are earlier volumes in this series that cover the basics so I recommend getting those first. One should also be warned that there is a fair amount of nudity and the female body parts are covered in detail, though nothing that would warrant an adults only rating. If you've read the earlier books in the How to Draw Manga series or have decent experience drawing in general this book will make a good addition to any interested in manga art.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: manga culture and the details of it all... Review: I see that a lot of the problems people have with the content of this series is really a clash of cultures than anything else. The ideal of politically correctness is fundamentally an American concept, at least in the sense that we know it. Just keep an open mind, and remember that the western mind-set is not the only way of looking at the world.
Now, with that said... looking at the book for what it is. A book on how to draw the female form, which it does very well. And yes, some of the details can be quite explict, but it is the details that help one as an artist. The book pretty much covers everything one needs to concider for drawing the female form, the only thing it may have left out was older women, probabaly in a different book. Its a must have for the ispiring Bishoujo artist as a good reference tool, or anyone that has trouble drawing women. So far this is the most useful book I have, out of four others in the series.
Final note, most of the "How to" manga books are not step by step books. Rather they have a picture presented, and you must practice what you see until you get it right. This frustrates the people that want a book that tells you, "draw this line, now draw this line." Truthfully the way these books make you work at it, will help you in the long run, rather than the hold-your-hand method. If you're serious about manga, get it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great for Artists who already know how to draw.... Review: I wouldn't recommend it as a starting point for beginners, though. This book would be very inspirational to a beginner, but it doesn't give a very good foundation on how they make the lovely pictures in the book.To those of us who've been at it for a while, though, it's a wonderful book, full of insight, and funny Japanese quirks, like 7 pages on how to draw panties... Prudish parents, beware, it does get pretty involved on drawing the "girly" parts of the girls... This is a great book, looks like they don't keep it in good enough circulation, though!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellant! Review: If you are new to attempting to draw manga, this is a decent place to start, at least with drawing limbs and...um...other anatomy parts. But you have to at least know beforehand how to draw the eyes cuz it dosn't go into much detail about that part.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Magnifique'! Review: It's a great book on drawing the female anime physique and all! Number 1! Great instructions, great illustrations!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Great if you want some cheap soft porn Review: My son bought this book because he is interested in drawing. I guess I should have read the book before allowing my teenager to have it, but I didn't know Amazon sold soft porn. Lots of crotch shots and "the female breast at rest, and jiggling." There was little if anything on actually how TO DRAW, just good pics to look at for a (really) cheap thrill.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Awesome Review: Some people said that since it has slight nudity, it's bad. one thing to say: READ THE REVEIWS! It doesn't really cover how to draw basics, but it's great for an experienced artist.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great for learning figures and proportions Review: This book is excellent for learning to draw to female figures for manga that isn't highly stylistic. It does assume that the reader knows basic rules for drawing faces and other parts, what equipment is used, and has access to tools commonly found only in Japan (like screentones). There were a few publishing errors made when flipping the book over to read left to right, but they are minor and easily caught. Overall, this is a great book for the developing manga artist who already has some practice. I hope the book on drawing young boys is as helpful (if I can ever find it).
