Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Recommended...but NOT from orginal publishers Review: Buyer beware is the name of the game. The original publishers (www.88mphstudios.com) from which I pre-ordered the book had rather poor customer service., I received the book after a number of complaints, but still had to pay extra shipping I shouldn't have needed to. I definitely would have ordered from Amazon, com had I known it would have been available here instead.
As for the book itself, I greatly enjoyed it and thought it was pretty well done. I would have liked to have seen more action poses perhaps. And more G1. (Hey, I'm biased!), but otherwise...THUMBS UP!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very Solid Review: For the record, im a big Transformers fan and i have an Illustration degree.I would recommend this book to any Transformers fan. As soon as i saw that someone decided to publish some of this material, went right on the Xmas list. Some of the Dreamwave work i just marvel at. For all the stupid illustrator books that company's publish, its nice to see display Transformers. Its amazing how many illustrators take to the Transformers. Just for me, if i was to change anything, i would remove all the substandard Transformer genres and stick w/ Generation 1. Beast Wars, Robots in Disguise, etc. Lastly, what, no illustrations of Starscream extracting revenge from Galvatron? Guess ill have to do that one and put if up for the second volume...........

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Art of Transformers is neat but not necessary... Review: I am a HUGE Transformers fan and a Freelance Artist. So the Art of The Transformers Volume 1 was right up my alley. Right? This book has 50 percent cheasy comic booky line drawings most with choppy colors. Some Art by the Dreamwave teams and some unknowns are pretty good with great textured digital colors and unique interpretations of bodies and sparks. But most are either REALLY poor drawings or characters I've never heard of. They're heart was in it, I guess. But the rest of the book has highlights such as the awsome 2 part cover and 30 percent painted (some look airbrushed) Art that is very similar to the actual G1 box Art. There is a section on the Dinobots (in robot mode) that is really AWSOME! If you are into the Mainframe TV shows, there are a few original images with the "wireframe" characters all colored in their animalistic glory... I would recomend this book used and I value it around $15 bucks. Here's to Volume 2...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great book.... Review: I find it unfortunate this book has received such poor reviews thus far. I find it to be quite excellent. The review that claims the book is mostly made up of cheesy line art is a joke. If you can speak from nothing but ignorance of the subject, please don't speak at all. To the person who directed their review at the company, don't take it out on the book please. I too ordered a copy. Back in April I believe. I haven't received mine either. I simply bought one from Amazon. This book is filled with new and old art, spanning the various incarnations of the Transformers. For the most part the art is fantastic. Personally, I only found one dissapointing illustration in the whole book. Other that that, perfection. Looking foward to part two. On a positive note, the company responsible for the book, will not handle orders for the second book. So hopefully, they won't be screwing anybody else over. Thank you for reading this review.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This book exists Review: I have to echo the sentiments of another reviewer. I ordered this book back in February or March - Paid 10$ more than it is here on Amazon.com - and have not yet received it. Additionally, I cannot reach anyone in customer service, after more than 10 attempts. If the quality of the book is any reflection of the quality of the company, keep away from it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Awesome artbook in a coffee table book Review: I just purchased this book and it was everything I expected. There is excellent artwork (Dreamwave being my favorite) from all different Transformers serieses including some Japanese ones. This is a beautiful hard cover book that would look great on a coffee table and is great for browsing through.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: If you like Transformer art, BUY THIS! Review: I was lucky that my local comic store ordered this for me (the owner knowing I'm a big Transformer fan). I don't normally collect art books, but this one was worth getting. The artwork is just beautiful and collects from a few different sources, including the cover to issue #5 of the US comic, the Dreamwave lithographs, and art from artists who are already legends of fanart, who just happen to be professional artists as well. I highly recommend this book to any art book collectors who are into Transformers or just one group in general.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Publishers are crooks, but, really want this book Review: I'm in the same boat as the other reviewer who pre-paid for this book over a year ago and still hasn't gotten his copy or a refund. I've finally given up and just paid again, for a copy from amazon.com just so I can freakin have the book. There's only so much waiting and so much reading other reviews before I _have_ to have it. That should tell you the detication of the fans that we'll dish out more money even after being burned by a crappy company.
