Summary: calming clark!
Review: I received this book from my father, a personal friend of Clark Cothern's, as a gift. Little did I know that this gift would give me peace in the midst of my chaos. Whenever I need to go to the calmness of the Lord's greatness, I reach for this little, easily read book. No matter what "religion" you choose to practice, this book of simple stories reminds you of childhood-to-adulthood experiences that bring a smile to your face...a tear to your eye, and a realization that everything can work out just fine if you have faith in God and his blessings. I recommend this book to all who want to "feel".

Summary: Cothern writes with the sensitive humanity of John Steinbeck
Review: The Reverend Cothern will, I hope and pray, be around a long time, gently raising the eyelids of a nation that has taken to looking at its shoes and into the gutter. Cothern raises the human spirit, and he counsels and cajoles as he tells us, "Hey, folks,it really is o.k. to look up."

This book displays Cothern's similarity to John Steinbeck. It is human scale, and Cothern's anecdotes are universally understandable--because Cothern has been blessed with an awareness of what is in the soul of all persons.

I read this easily readable book with only one, short break. It is a warm inspiration. I have already purchased 30 copies to send to my children, grandchildren, and friends. I want them all to benefit from Cothern's simple clarity, and his capacity for bringing all persons back into the family.
