Review: the third book in this series is about the last of the three determined and loyal friends, kit. peart portrays kit's story, which is very different (though in the same town) from her beloved friends, toddie and laurel. peart portrays the hardships for this little orphans that traveled on the orphan trains in a wonderful manner.

Review: This is a great book, of the four books in the series I think this is my favourite. Kit has the hardest life out of the girls but finds true happiness in the end. This book always gives me a lump in my throught.
