Review: This book gives a simple, clear, illuminating perspective that will change your view of Christianity forever. The basic premise is that God has the ability to limit himself...to bind himself...by making a promise to us. Once he has made his promise, we can take hold of it, and hold him to it. Because he cannot violate his own nature, he must be righteous and fulfill his promise. A Covenant is a legal process that God sets into place so that we can be secure in his promise. The New Covenant was established in the Blood of Christ, and it makes certain provisions for us, including (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) Salvation. Instead of asking God to show mercy to us, we may now stand firm upon the Covenant and demand that God act according to righteousness and fulfill his part of the bargain. He makes covenants because it pleases Him to deal with us in this manner.
