Summary: Traditional Theists, Beware
Review: A rigorous treatment of traditional theodicies and a ruthless (but very calm and scholarly) exposition of their weaknesses. If you are a traditional theist, of any stripe (and Orthodox, don't get cocky, because even if the theologians Griffin examines are Westerners, he still covers your ground) prepare for some very serious thinking. As far as I am concerned, this (i.e., theodicy) is the core issue that determines whether we can in good conscience accept traditional theism, or should rather try to develop a nontraditional theism that doesn't contradict our most basic moral and religious intuitions.
