Rating: Summary: Christianity Exposed...indeed! Review: Another book filled with ignorant blather from a man who is ignorant of history, theology and biblical research. His [weak] arguments will convince those who want to be convinced but none else. his claims that Paul originated christianity instead of Christ were so thoroughly refuted in the 1920's by J. Gresham Machen that only the most ignorant person could possibly still put them forward as serious arguments. Go read "The Origin of Paul's Religion" by Machen. That is if your ... brain can handle a book with serious scholarship behind it. ...

Rating: Summary: Assumptions based on assumptions. Review: Frankly, I'm unimpressed. The author claims to know may things he does not. Firstly, he's obvioulsy working from a 20th/21st century perspective. Would going through a Wendy's drive through make sense coming from a First Century source? No. Of course not. So we must read the Scriptures from their appropriate context. He fails to do so. Secondly, his arguement that God cannot be trinity and unity is based on being and not persons. Let's use the St. Patrick's example. A three-leaf clover has three separate and different leaves, right? But it's still one three-leaf clover, right? Three leaves, one essence of a three-leaf clover. Three persons, one divine essence.
Rating: Summary: Serious readers stay away. Review: I bought this book (along with another title by the same author) looking for insight into the history behind christianity. This book, along with the author's other material, consists of nothing but the inane writings of a clueless, ignorant man. I expected a serious study on the subject, and was let down. I wish I had researched the author first, but I guess hindsight is 20/20. Also, if you have read any of his books, you will also notice that a good many of the 5 star reviews here were written by him. His style is easily recognized. Tulbure, you're not fooling anyone.
Rating: Summary: Nice work Review: I don't think there is a better book out there which exposes the Christian god-myth and Judaism all in one. I now use this book as a debater's handbook. Let's hope more open minded Christians decide to think for themselves and read this book. I thought the portrayal of the Christian Jesus and the Jewish Jesus was particularly well done. The Appendix articles are a must read believe me. Although the author is hard on the characters of Jesus and God his arguments and logic are sound. You will not find a better book exposing Christianity anywhere. My wife was a Christian until I had her read this book. We had many fights because of her religion and what she was teaching our children. Being an Atheist father married to a Christian wife is a real challenge. Thanks to Mr. Tulbure my wife and I now have peace in the home. When my 14 years old daughter started reading the book I could hear her laughing and chuckling at some of the more idiotic doctrines and teachings of Christianity and she thought how blind people must be to ignore the countless contradictions found in the Bible. Now that she no longer goes to Church she has lost many of her "good Christian" friends who want nothing to do with her, but she is doing much better in school and she seems much happier and more excited about life. It is as if I now have the daughter I always wanted, full of zeal for life and interested more in living and making a better future rather than worrying about burning in hell. It is amazing to see the complete turnaround in mentality and way of thinking once the blindfolds have been taken off someone who was brainwashed with religious dogma which has no place in a civilized world. I could write a whole essay on what this book has done for my family and perhaps some day I will. To the Christian, all I have to say is this: Had you been born to a Muslim family would you be a Christian now? Would Islam not be have been your ultimate truth? Sure it would. So read this book and then come here and post an honest and objective review. The truth is hard to grasp if you have already made up your mind what it is before examining all the arguments for and against. If God did exist and did want his will known to mankind surely such a superior being could have found a perfect way to do it instead of using savages to transmit his wishes. A few 3d shows in the night sky and some clear words for all to hear once in a while would surely have done the trick ;) So read this book and see why your religion is just as savage and barbaric as Judaism,, Islam and so many others out there. If you are so weak minded that you must have a crutch, try Buddhism, it is a religion far superior to all others out there. William Pruitt
Rating: Summary: Guaranteed not to change your life Review: Sigh, there are an amazing number of books out there that claim to completely disprove Christianity, or even the existence of Christ. For those of us who are too old to believe in conspiracy theories of this level, a few reminders: 1) There are just as many books that offer to prove Christianity, too, and they are AT LEAST as compelling and AT LEAST as well researched. Let's get both sides of the argument on the table first. Might I recommend "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh MacDowell, to name just one example? 2) If it was that easy to disprove then Christianity, as the religion that has made the strongest claims of all of the major religions, never would have got off the ground (bcos nobody would have been bothered dying for it), let alone thrived for almost 2000 years. 3) As you can see from many of the alternating 1 star/5 star reviews, many people might just be using these books to reinforce what they already believed, or rejecting them out of hand. 4) Ultimately, the toughest part about believing in Christ is not the historical data (lots of corroborating evidence at your disposal) or the underlying logic of the religion (it's remarkably coherent, and even flexible), or the science (is Darwinism really that plausible? Bcos those single-celled organisms in your family tree would have actually had to evolve from inorganic matter). The reason most scientists, academics and comedians dont believe iin God is the same as the reason why most ditch-diggers and janitors don't: the moral choice is so hard that it's easier to ignore it, ridicule it or sweep it under the mat.
Rating: Summary: Christianity Exposed, upcoming 2nd edition Review: The Bible is the "Holy Book" upon which Christianity is supposedly based; yet the vast majority of Christians would be surprised to find out what is really in "The Good Book". In Christianity Exposed, Dr. Solomon Tulbure uses the Bible to reveal little known facts about Christianity that your Sunday school teacher probably never told you. Rather than taking selected passages out of context to support his arguments, Dr. Tulbure explains the context and how it relates to the passage in question. One might think that a thorough, intense gathering of knowledge about a particular worldview would precede the dedicating of one's life to that worldview. Before becoming a Christian, for instance, it would be wise to read and understand the Bible. However, the vast majority of Christians become Christians because that is how they were raised and they were not taught to consider other points of view. Indeed, many are taught that it is sinful to consider other points of view. In Christianity Exposed, the truth about the Bible is revealed. This book explains, in a straightforward manner, that Jesus was a Jew in every sense of the word. Jesus never intended for Christianity to be a new religion, but instead he saw it as a new sect of Judaism. As such, Jesus also had no intention of revoking the Law of Moses by dying on the cross. The New Testament does not cancel out the Old Testament. Christianity Exposed provides compelling arguments that modern Western Christianity is based on the Biblical writings of Paul, not Jesus. Ideas such as salvation by faith, the Trinity and the "virgin birth" came from Paul, and not Jesus. Jesus claimed to be "the son of God", but only in the way that everyone in Judaism is a son or daughter of God; Jesus never claimed to be "God-the-Son". The Hebrew word in the Bible interpreted as "virgin" really means "young lady". Yet even as he attacks Paul's views, Dr. Tulbure points out that Jesus' teachings were not all that great, either. Not only were none of them unique, but also some of them were unethical and/or foolish. Also, the actions of Jesus depicted in the Bible were not that of a divine or perfect role model. Further, Jesus could not have been the Messiah, as he did not fulfill the prophesied Messianic expectations. God's character, as depicted in the Bible, is also challenged in the face of numerous chapters and verses in which God orders and/or helps carry out violent atrocities against men, women, and children, or demands harsh punishments against people for minor infractions. The author also uses Biblical text to challenge the idea that God, even as depicted in the Bible, is omnipotent. You may be surprised to learn that what you were taught about the Crucifixion, the Resurrection and doctrine of Original Sin isn't true, either. Dr. Tulbure also argues that religion is the root of evil and needs to be opposed, and that we need an alternative. In addition to religions that do not have gods, such as Theravada or Zen Buddhism or some forms of atheistic paganism (in which the deities are mere metaphors), there are many secular philosophies such as Secular Humanism, the Agnostic Church, Ethical Culture, and others. In Part II of this book, the author discusses his favorite alternative to religion, Ayn Rand's Objectivism. It is not my favorite, and I also do not agree with all the aims of the Illuminati Order, which the author also discusses in the appendixes. However, it is clear that Dr. Tulbure knows the Bible inside and out, and reveals things about the Bible that might shock the average Christian whose understanding of the Bible is normally limited to what his/her clergy teaches him/her in church...
