Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent scholarship
Review: Eire does an excellent job of placing larger than life historical figures in context. Anyone interested in the Catholic Reformation in Spain should read this book. It will also be of great interest to those who are interested in mysticism, or the general zeal that Spain seemed to be frothing with during the Reformation/Counter Reformation era. The research is impeccable.
