Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A One Sided View Review: As a recovering Catholic myself, I have experienced the pressure firsthand, to return to my family's faith. Though his grasp on language is decent, he lacks to realize children and adolecents as individuals and not just exstentions of parent's own morals and beliefs. Also to not seriously consider a child's action's as relevant, thought out or meaningful. Summed up, the book preaches that youths are weak, suceptible, and easily swayed minds, and that the choices made are not logical or withstanding. Don't assume this is a passing phase in a persons life, this could very well be a decision made to shape one's life for better or for worse. 13 years after my own decision, I have no regrets.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: been there Review: For those who have never experienced a relationship with God through Jesus Christ (not religion, i.e. Catholicism) this book will not make any sense. But, for those who understand what a personal relationship with Jesus is all about, this book speaks volumes to the experience of prodigals. It is one thing to walk away from religion, quite another to walk away from the living God. This book is about that God, the loving Father who pursues his children in spite of their rejection of him. If you are, or were a prodigal you'll understand. If you are a parent of a prodigal, this book will be a healing salve to the wounds you have experienced. We have used this book in self-help groups of parents struggling with prodigals - overwhelming positive response!... Parents in this circumstance loved and cling to it's message of hope. Those outside of this experience, or in a current prodigal state will be clueless. Read it!
