Where We Got the Bible

Summary: a must read for all Christians
Review: While I would be biased, given that I am Catholic, I nonetheless recommend this book to all Christians, especially Catholics (and Eastern Rite Orthodox Catholics), who should know the Bible, but also those non-Catholic Christians who are open-minded enough to ask themselves these questions: given that I entrust so much to the Bible, as the written Word of God, how much do I know about the origins of the Bible? Shouldn't I know everything about its origins, if I am to defend my faith in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, *as he is taught to me* in the Bible? If the Bible was not widely available in print form until about 500 years ago, how did God reach out to humanity? How do I defend my faith against those who, through dubious scholarship, either add to the Bible or remove parts of it to suit their dubious doctrines?

I repeat: this book is a must-read.
