Summary: yes and no!
Review: dr silva is a conservative evangelical who has been on faculty at several well known (reformed) seminaries. this book is written from a conservative perspective and explains that the literal meaning of a passage or verse may not be the upshot of what the author was attempting to convey. dr silva very eloquently says, "the truth of scriptural authority does automatically tell us what a given passage means: it does assure us that, once we have correctly identified the biblical teaching...that that teaching may be trusted unequivocally." he adds,"...the truth of scripture is independent of anyones's ability to comprehend it or willingness to receive it." this book is to the point and very readable for the nonscholar and scholar alike. highly recommended!
