Summary: What a blessing
Review: I use this Bible extensively for personal study, sermon preparation as a pastor, and in our church Bible Study. It is an excellent production. I can't believe that it's out of print? Will someone be printing it again? Is it available on CD? - this will save me a great deal of time in transcribing valuable notes.
Could someone please help.

Summary: This bible is a great book!
Review: My bride has had this bible for quite awhile and it has been a great reference bible. I have used it for many of our small group discussions. The best feature that we appreciate has just come about recently. The discipleship section in the "Life Helps" has help us out greatly. It was great to see the graph showing the diffrent phases of discipleship. My wife has used this in our neighborhood discipling girls living close to us. We may also be using this for our church to help disciple new believer's. This bible has been a great bible, to bad it is out of print.

Review: OK. I've only had the Disciple's Study Bible for a few days and after just a little reading and skimming, I'm thus far pretty impressed with the features. The Disciple's Study Bible is unique in a lot of ways. Many people wonder why this particular Bible is different from other Bibles, but the answer is pretty simple. The Disciple's Study Bible is more about Doctrinal Study, but I don't want that to scare you away. The author(s) took 27 Christian Doctrines and labeled each footnote for each verse after one of these particular doctrines. The 27 doctrines are Christian Ethics, The Church, Church Leaders, Creation, Discipleship, Education, Election, Evangelism, Evil & Suffering, Family, God, History, Holy Scripture, Holy Spirit, Humanity, Jesus Christ, Last Things, Miracle, Missions, Ordinances, Prayer, Proclamation, Revelation, Salvation, Sin, Stewardship, and Worship. If you're expecting this "doctrinal" study to be "too much" for you, you may be surprised. Many of the footnotes I've read over seemed to give more instructional information than the Life Application Bible, which I've used for many years, but the information hasn't been way over my head. It truly does have characteristics of both Life Application and Devotional Study. If you're a new Christian or are just looking for a basic study Bible to see how the Word can help in everyday life, then I would probably suggest the Life Application Bible first. As I said, I've only had the Disciple's Study Bible for a few days so I cannot truly offer an in depth analysis of its features, but if you simply read through other reviews on amazon you'll get a good idea as to how this Bible will train you for becoming a Disciple for Christ. Another note: Most of the information listed on Amazon and/or other websites is incorrect. This Bible is 1984 pages and has the following features. Annotations on the 27 great doctrines of faith (see above), doctrinal summaries, doctrinal histories, doctrinal reference index, life helps (102 pages relating doctrine to everyday life to help you grow as a disciple), introductions and outlines, charts and graphs, footnotes, center-column references, concordance, words of Christ in red, & map and map index. Furthermore, the publisher (Holman Bible Publisher) created a Disciple's Study Bible Sampler which they will likely send to you so that you may get a good preview of exactly what this study Bible has to offer. After searching high and low online and finding very little information about the Disciple's Study Bible, I finally contacted the publisher and they offered to send me the Disciple's Study Bible Sampler. The sampler highlights all of the features of the Disciple's Study Bible and gives you the entire book of Jude, including the footnotes. It amazes me that the publisher doesn't just list the sampler information on their website in PDF format or something like that, but it must not be a high priority of theirs at the time. Anyway, if you're wondering just what this Bible has to offer, I would strongly suggest contacting the publisher to receive a copy of the Disciple's Study Bible Sampler... You may either send their customer support an email as I did, or get an 800 number and call and ask for it...and most importantly, the sampler is FREE!! Review: This bible is one of the best available. I have had my bible for over 10 years and nothing comes close to it. It contains enough information to assist in teaching, preaching, counseling and living. The Life Skills notation are an excellent life application reference. Anyone utilizing this bible will find it an excellent resource tool.

Review: This Bible, by far, is the best I own. I have the Open, the Nelson, the Spirit Filled, the Full Life, the Thompson Chain, the Dake, and the Scofield. This one is excellent.
If you are looking for a Bible that deals with the doctrines from a basic standing with practical applications; this is it.I must say that I have found that the best feture in this Bible is it's full discussion on Becoming a Disciple. This is a full course of study that will change your walk and life forever. I really thought the NIV was not a good translation because of its ommision of certain verses in the actual Bible text but those verses are in the footnote. After reading some of the text I actually like the NIV better than earlier translations because in teaching, more time is able to be spent on teaching principles and less time is spent on verse translating. If I would have bought this Bible at the start of my Christian walk, I would have saved alot of money.

Review: Where most Study Bibles tell you what is in the text, the Disciples Study Bible tells you what is behind the text. It provides a number of ways to read and apply Christian teachings (27 main doctrines) to your life. I have owned this Bible for several years and have used it to guide my daily walk through the different ways it provides to study and apply Scripture. Not only does it have great notes that help explain Christian teaching on every page, but in the back there are articles on how to become a new believer, what it means, how to live, how to pray, methods of worship, methods of Bible study, memorization, and a host of other topics on the subject of being a disciple of Christ. This is more than a study Bible, it is a Life Manual, if your intent is to live as a Disciple of Jesus.

Review: [I almost purchased this bible when I first became a Christian 12 years ago, but it went out of print before I did. I was so excited to see it finally available again after 12 years out of print] . This bible has it all, from great quality print and paper, to excellent doctrinal studies, text explanations, life helps, cross references, summaries and histories of major Christian doctrines.....the list goes on and on. It is a great bible at a very affordable price. A bible not to be missed! Great for new believers and seasoned Christians.
