Summary: Excellent Quality
Review: A great quality KJV! Not imposing, but attractive either with the book jacket on or off. Sewn in pages makes for great durability. Pages are thinner than I'd prefer, but in spite of that, they're not too delicate.

It's also got Robert Murray McCheyne's Bible reading calendar in the back (spread over two years instead of one) which, to me, is a plus. It also has a short glossary of uncommon words used in the KJV.

All in all, a great volume (the content, of course, is awesome).

Summary: Excellent Text Bible
Review: Even the standard text edition here, has a good-sized font. The Cambridge quality is unexcelled(unless by those of Allan Bibles of Glasgow). I am very grateful to the folks at Cambridge for installing a glossary at the back of the Bible to put the myriads of archaic words into modern, understandable English. Unfortunately, the Large Print Text edition does not have this almost-necessary feature. For an outstanding quality Text Edition, this is it. It also has a long ribbon marker, which a lot of companies are shortening, to the point where they only barely extend past the bottom of the page. Kudos to Cambridge. As an added note, I find the reviews by certain 'yaygs' who set themselves up as Theologians and criticise the very Word of God to be laughable at best, pathetic at worst.

Summary: Superb Workmanship!

Summary: well-constructed
Review: I looked for a well-constructed KJV bible with no distracting commentaries or cross references, and am very pleased the large print blue hardcover edition from Cambridge University Press (ISBN 052116334X). The dark 10-point font is very comfortable for me to read. The india paper looks to be of high quality, and is sewn into a cloth binding which should last a long time.

Summary: The perfect Bible
Review: I once had a hardbound Cambridge Standard Text Edition KJB. I only had it for a few days, but liked the no-frills, text-only style. A few days later, I bought leather-bound, large print editions for myself and my parents. The advantage of Cambridge KJB's is that they have fewer publishing errors than all other publishers. Yes, they are more expensive text-only Bibles, but the best Bibles are that way. I freely gave that hardbound copy to the "Christian" school I got educated from.
For ANYONE who believes the Holy Bible is a phony, it is not. ALL modern translations such as that damnable NIV, the NASB (the committee leader of this version now denounces HIS OWN version), the RSV, even the New King James, Modern King James, and 21st Century King James, are corrupt. Do not use these, I say to ALL people, Christian or not. If you stop criticizing the Elizabethan English and actually look beyond it, the understanding and accuracy is much clearer than those of the modern versions of today and tomorrow.
This text's history went through way too much bloodshed. Do you see today's modern versions having the same result? Certainly not! Rather than die for Christ through bloodshed and sacrifice their own human lives for Him, the translators and scholars who write the newer versions seek to lie to you and deceive you, and steal your very precious souls and toss them to Satan. Psalm 12:6-7 says that God will preserve His Word forever. Despite all the attacks the Authorized King James text has received within the past four centuries, it has withstood the test of time for these past four centuries. So rather than reject this text and criticize it with your own proofless, limited, stupid human rhetoric, be quiet, buy a Cambridge copy, and read God's Perfect and Preserved Word for the English tongue. Thank you.

Summary: Cute
Review: I thought that it was occasionally entertaining but I really thought mostly it was repeatitive and boring. It's an okay story I guess. I'd like to see some more of this person's work though. Is he/she still writing? I hear that a lot of people really do like this book and I also hear it has sort of a cult following behind it.

Summary: reconsidering my previous review
Review: I'll have to revise my earlier review where I complained about "onion-thin" pages.

In fact, compared to other Bibles, this one is the best in terms of print clarity, font, letter size, and general attractiveness. I've bought several (expensive) Bibles, which turned out to be much less pleasing than this one.

The onion-thin pages are the norm with Bibles, and so not a point of criticism. In fact, I recently dicovered that good-quality editions of classics are usually made of this paper ...if it is india-paper.

Anyway--that's my correction to my last review. Enjoy this edition!

Summary: God's Only True Word
Review: Many people claim that since we don't have the original manuscripts, there aren't any truly divinely inspired scriptures today. But Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." (Matthew 24:35) It becomes very evident that the KJV is the true word when you compare it to other versions. For instance, the NIV calls Lucifer "Jesus" and vice versa (http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/nivsatan.htm).

Also, to the reviewer that claims the Holy Bible is "Full of errors and hocus-pocus!", the two verses you quoted DO NOT contradict each other.

"... I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." -- Genesis 32:30

"No man hath seen God at any time..." -- John 1:18

If you would have read a little before that verse in Genesis, you would see that it refers to an angel of God, not God himself. Whereas the verse in John refers to the Lord God which art in heaven. If you're going to be ignorant, then be so, but don't try to drag others down with you.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
--John 3:16
