Summary: Oxford Does It Again!
Review: Oxford University Press should be congratulated! Once again they have published a high quality Bible. This edition of the Scofield contains enhancements but not revisions to the notes. It is beyond me to understand why the major Bible publishers don't understand quality the way Oxford does! The NKJV Scofield features clear, bold print and a sewn binding even for the hardcover edition. This allows for easy readability and durability. The only constructive criticism I have is that the print size for the introductions to the Bible books could have been a little larger. As for the theology of the Scofield, some may agree with it and others may not. Some may think it is based on a literal/plain reading of the text and others may think the notes involve an attempt to rationalize and fit the scriptures together rather than embrace the mystery and diversity of the texts. Whatever the case, the Oxford NKJV Scofield is a quality Bible for all explorers of the scriptures especially for those who embrace Scofield's theology!
