Jesus and Moses: The Parallel Sayings

Review: The 2nd book in the "Parallel Sayings" series makes the interesting juxtaposition of the sayings of 2 revered teachers from the Jewish tradition(rabbis) on the topics of Love, Enlightenment, Wisdom, Study, Law, God, Justice, Sin, Repentence and the Hereafter. There are uncanny similiarities in their lives, but also some strong differences in what they taught (a section is devoted to some of those differences). It is intersting to note that some of the writings attributed to Moses post-date him by centuries and are included as the "collective voice" of Moses, as opposed to being spoken directly by him.

As in the first book, there are no additional commentaries, just the quotes (one each by Moses and Jesus per page), so this has limited value for academics, but I find it to be enjoyable and informative.
