Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good Book
Review: Don't set Goals: The Old Way is one of those books like As A Man Thinketh and Richest Man in Bablyon that is small in size but big on content. I like this book and highly recomend it to anyone who wants to be Goal Getter, and not just a Goal Setter.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Just skim it in the store!
Review: I bought this book from a store, which had a surprisingly paltry selection of goal setting books. Anyway, I skimmed the book and decided to buy it. I should have just left it in the store, because I didn't gain anything more by reading the rest.

The book is very poorly written and disorganized. Much of the content seems "thrown in" just so the book could be completed. The author admitted that while writing it, he had a very tight date of completion. He finished it, but I'm surprised it made it through the editing process. The thoughts are jumbled together, and he jumps from topic to topic with little transition. It is not arranged in a very user-friendly format. Some of the quotes seem irrelevant to what is being discussed. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the key points could have been typed on one sheet of paper.

However, I did benefit from the key point of BEING the type of person who gets her goal, instead of just getting caught up in process of setting goals. This concept did changed my perspective. But I read that concept as I skimmed the book in the store, and I should have left the book there. I would not recommend it to someone seeking motivational material.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Short and to the point
Review: I like this book. It suggests, that you need to be a goal getter not just a goal setter. There is a biblical phrase that says' "Faith without action equals DEATH" In this book, Wade Cook shows you not only how to set goals, but more importantly, how to achieve them. A lot of nice quotes as motivators. Short, easy reading and rewarding if you follow the advice given.

Summary: Still a good read
Review: Occasionally, when I am waiting for my new batch of books to come in, I'll reread an older one.Don't set Goals "The old Way" is a compact, but value packed book. Reminds me of Brian Tracy's excellent books "Eat that Frog" and "Be A Sales Superstar" which are also compact in size but deliver a powerful message.Wade Cook is one of the top leaders of our time. The concepts revealed here by Wade are urgently needed in a time of financial chaos. Don't judge this book by it's size. It's a winner.

Summary: Childish- Don't Waste Your Money On This Book!
Review: The author spends half the book selling his real estate courses and the other half posting missives and quotes that are inappropriate for the content. The only reason for the overly large type style is to allow the scarce material to fill a small book.

The author rambles from one subject to another inside single paragraph and cannot hold a thought for more than a few sentances. It is very difficult to read.

The productive ideas in this book could have been printed on a single sheet of paper and mailed out in a chain letter. The ideas are not clearely defined, give no or poor examples, and present nothing new or expanded.

Confirmation of the quality of this book is represented in those individuals offering a recommendation in the cover....The individuals with comments are not known in the business or motivation community.

The author may be a fine person, but this book is not a reflection of an organized mind. He needs a very good and very brutal editor.

Summary: Very inspiring - Excellent Book
Review: This book reminds me of The Richest Man in Babylon and The Greatest Secret in the World, two excellent books that were short, low on content but packed with inspiration and value. As Wade says; 'Don't be a goal setter, be a goal getter." Setting goals is easy. Doing the activities that make those goals become reality is the hard part. I liked the quotes by Caryle, Emerson, Shakespeare, Blair, Coleridge, Goethe, McArthur, Wade Cook himself and the references to the bible.I also receommend Business Buy the Bible and of course The Bible.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good things come in small packages...
Review: This is a short, compact book that offers more inspiration than specific information, but it's title suggests that. It's not the usual investment guide by Wade Cook, the former Taxi driver turned stock mogul, it's a book that tries to impart that impetus for acting on your goals instead of just planning them. On that theme, it's excellent!

The quotes throughout are great and the book itself makes clear just how precious this commodity we call time really is.

Very well worth the read!

Summary: Be a goal getter, not a goal setter
Review: This is one of the better books on personal development that I have read. It is brief (why do some people thing that bigger is better)and gets right to the point: Be a Goal Getter, Not just a goal setter. Wade quotes a biblical phrase that says; "Be about it."

Too many people set goals and then life in the world that Denis Waitley describes as "someday I'll." "Someday I'll open my trading account, but not now." "Someday I'll be financially independent, but not now."

Wade has written a very good book. Also recommend Business Buy The Bible by Wade.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good basic goal getting book
Review: What Wade Cook teaches in this short, compact book is very similiar to one of the top success trainers in the world. It comes down to your core desires and "to be about it." Don't talk about it. Don't just set goals. Be a goal getter, not just a goal setter. Different but effective.
