Summary: A wonderful Christian Experience
Review: A story that is wonderfully told about the Christian experience as a whole. Cobb takes you right into the lives of African believers who must reconcile the struggle between the Spirit of Christ living within them and the pagan culture surrounding them. Can't wait for the next one Melvin.

Summary: Don't Bother
Review: I found the author took what could have been an intesting topic and made it so convoluted that it was boring and a chore to read. The main character was so one-dimentional that I had no sympathy for his conflict. The main character could have had many levels of emotions due to his conflict, but the author couldn't seem to touch on any of them. By the middle of the book, I was so lost as to who was who that I found myself constantly retracing what I'd read to remind myself who these people were. After a while I just didn't care and lost interest. It felt as if I was reading a "piece" novel. A book where the author took pieces from other books and tried to make an original novel from it. Never once did I believe the story. There are so many other really good novels in this genre that I'm sorry I wasted my time on this one. What I don't understand is how this book is part of a series, are the publishers kidding?!!

Summary: Black History & Historical Christian Fiction
Review: If you love reading Historical Christian Fiction novels, such as Francine Rivers, you will love reading this book. The authors descriptives in the book make you really feel like you are there and able to see every detail. His characters are real in their struggle to walk out their new life in Christ and leave the old behind. If you wonder what it must have been like to be a new believer in Africa after the resurrection of Christ, this is the book for you!

Summary: Great book!
Review: We've needed something like this for a long time! This book is thought provoking and reads like a cross between a historical drama and a textbook. It brought to life an anceint African culture to such a degree that I felt as if I had actually visited that part of the world. The characters were real and complex and helped bring the culture to life. The map and glossary really helped!
