Review: It has been a good while since I have read this book. It is both scholarly (written by a non-fundamentalist New Testament scholar) and entertaining. Jewett shows how the Jesus of the Gospels is not a world-obliterating Apocalyptic figure, but a world restoring Messiah. This is a good place to start if you want to read an author who is "reality oriented" on this topic.
