Review: O'Day's Word Disclosed is perhaps the best entry into narrative-critical readings of the Fourth Gospel. Her imaginative and incisive presentations of several of the most important narratives in the Fourth Gospel - including Jesus' encounters with the Samaritan woman and with the Man Born Blind - serve well to "sell" this gospel to undergraduate and graduate students alike. I've been using this book to prepare for lectures now for five years of teaching the Four Gospels, and can happily anticipate including it as required reading.
