Rating: Summary: Dream Interpretation? The Quintessential Book! Review: After intensively studying self-awareness religiously (no pun intended) for 4 years, I can honestly say that this book is one of the finest books I've ever read on dreams. The author is a Jungian psychologist/rabbi. Covitz' book is his abridgement of 15th century rabbi Solomon Almoli, who entitled his book The Interpretation of Dreams. It has been re-published for over 400 years, and Covitz' publication is an insightful journey into Almoli's remarkable theories which he draws from the Talmud, Torah, Bible, and anecdotal traditional Jewish lore (note: even Freud cited Almoli's book in Freud's Interpretation of Dreams...seems interesting that both books have the same title!). Whether you are Jewish or not, this book is a must read for anyone who wants to understand the meaning behind their dreams...not merely the symbolism but the underlying current which Almoli posits are a gift from a higher source. I believe it's very well written and can be enjoyed by both professional therapists and laypersons. This book is hard to find and out of print, but well worth the effort. I've read it twice, and ordered 4 copies for friends.
