Review: An excellent introduction to modern scholarship connecting the Biblical record with recent archeological findings. Particular attention is paid to the connection of Jesus with the community we know as the Essenes. Very easy to read and would make a good gift for a church library or a person interested in exploring more about the development of the Christian tradition.

Summary: Topography as the fifth gospel
Review: Nearly 20 years ago I accompanied the author on a trip all around the Sea of Galilee to the sites where much of Jesus' work happened. He was such a powerful teacher and researcher that I was taking careful notes of each demonstration of his findings. Now I find this material available in this book, the very same information, concise and lucid. This is an imperative for good biblical study and interpretation, an invaluable resource for anyone who desires up-to-date details from a practitioner for over 30 years of faithful reading and investigating biblical texts.

Summary: An interesting survey of the life of CHrist
Review: Roman Catholic perspective on the earlier part of the life of Christ. His other book, with Jesus in Jerusalem (not available from here when I enquired!) is on the end of Christ's life. Both books were available in Israel at numerous tourist type locations. Books orginally written in German. English is the translation. I like them.
