Review: Darrell Johnson presents the Revelation of Jesus Christ in a way I've never heard it before -- as a discipleship manual (not as a crystal ball, like so many do). His approach to this book brings out its transformative power by making it relevant to our day-to-day lives. With a pastor's heart and a scholar's insight, Johnson helps us to see what Jesus enabled John to see -- that in a world that may appear to be out-of-control, "Things are not as they seem; there is more to reality than meets the unaided eye; God is in control; Jesus is gonna win." And thus, Johnson calls us to all-out discipleship to Jesus.

I had the privilege of sitting under Johnson's preaching and teaching when he delivered the year-long sermon series that forms the basis of this book, and I know first-hand that I was not the only one whose life was transformed by putting on the "Revelation glasses" that Johnson provided. Do yourself a favor -- read, and re-read, this book!
