Summary: good clean fun
Review: Having read the book more than a decade ago, it still made a strong impression on me, as I recall the exchange of letters (or is it parchment) between an experienced and novice pastor. The book contains many helpful tips for pastors, and though the setting is the 1st century church, you'll learn that the problems the early Christians faced then are really no different from the ones the modern church faces now. The characters in the books were very memorable, like the sister who goes around praying for the sick (and even when there was no visible healing, she would hug and love the one she's prayed for) OR the pastor who was never forgiven by his congregation because he "defiled" himself by helping a wounded on his way to church... and many more. And who can forget the main character - the wise Pastor who maintained his wit despite having to face the lions... The illustrations were also well done!

Review: This is a great little book. It's funny, witty, and full of very applicable annecdotes. Any pastor would get a kick out of this book, but you might not want to lend it out to too many parishoners. Hehe!
