Showers looks at God's program from before creation to the new heavens and new earth. The author takes the view that God is sovereignly in control of history and that He is working out His plan unto His ultimate glory. I frequently utilize this book as I teach through the Scriptures. If you are a student of the Scriptures you need to have this book in your library!
