Rating: Summary: This book will increase your faith. Review: As I was talking to a friend she was telling me about how her husband had been saying he was a king's kid. Three times she said this. Each time it stood out to me. I knew God was telling me something. I then remember a book I had gotten about a year ago at a used Christian Bookstore and I had just put it away. At the time I just knew I was suppose to get it, but put it aside. So today I went and got the book out and starting reading it. How awesome God is! I had been going through a down time and needed this uplifting, faith building book. It has given me the hope I needed to go on and seek God to give me the wisdom I need. Awesome and enjoyable book.
Rating: Summary: A good book, in general Review: Harold Hill's testimony in this book is a true inspiration. This is a man that read Mark 16:15-18 and took it at face value. (Mark 16:15-18 "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.")
Rating: Summary: You must read this book Review: How to live like a kings kid is possibly one of the best Christian books I have read. I found that it challenged every aspect of my life and I came to the realisation that what it says in the Bible is literally what it means. The book is written as a life testimony of Harold Hill on how he had the power to live like a King's Kid and the influence it has had on the people around him.
Rating: Summary: How to give your life totally to God. Review: I found this book challenges every area of a Christian's life and understanding of the Christian walk. Real Christianity showed by one who has lived it.
Rating: Summary: Should be compulsory reading for Every Christian! Review: I found this book challenges every area of a Christian's life and understanding of the Christian walk. Real Christianity showed by one who has lived it.
Rating: Summary: An Utter Embarrassment for Christians Review: I wish I could rate it lower than one star.
According to www.snopes.com, this book contains a chapter devoted to the urban legend of the NASA computer uncovering the missing day of Joshua. Could some please verify this that this book contains that false story -- I have not read the book and I will gladly delete this review if I am wrong. If this book does contain the false NASA story then this book is worse than trash and should be avoided. I speak as a Christian (who is a software engineer and has worked in the aerospace industry) who hates to see stories circulated that are so obviously false that makes Christians look like stupid fools.
Rating: Summary: A book that has probably changed many lives... Review: This book has become one of the classics of popular Christian books, especially among those who lean towards the charismatic/evangelical end of the spectrum. The late Harold Hill was a nice man and great speaker; I had the pleasure of meeting him twice. He had a way of putting an interesting and humorous spin on Biblical truths. On my spiritual path, I have come to disagree with much of his theology, but his Christianity was sincere and deeply-felt. One of his later books, entitled "God's in Charge Here", dealt with the failures and short-comings of his faith walk. It was written to balance the Glory-all-the-way accounts contained in "King's Kid" and his other books. You have to admire that kind of courage and candor. Bless you Harold, for your life and your books.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book for Present and Future Christians Review: This is one of the books that influenced my decision to become a Christian. For people experiencing a crisis in their lives that don't have time for lengthy theology this book provides answers based on the author's years of successful Christian living. Hill's style of writing is more that of an easily referenced technical manual than a theological dissertation. Although some people may object I find it highly appropriate for a book about practical Christianity.
