Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent survey of traditions and movements in the UCC
Review: This book gave me a greater appreciation of the diversity and variety within the United Church of Christ. There is much that concerns me and burdens my heart (the Gay/lesbian agenda, some of the ideas coming out of the feminist movement, some of the limitations the process theology movement seems to put on God's omniscience and omnipresence), but I had a very enjoyable time reading about the 4 main theological streams which flow into the United Church of Christ (Congregational, Christian, Reformed, Evangelical). This is certainly must reading for anyone who is a member of the United church of Christ, but it is also a good book for anyone who is interested in mainline Protestant theology and in the trend toward unity and pluralism at the expense of objective truth.
