Review: The translator's preface tells us that this book is derived from a conference held in Shanghai, China in 1934. We are blessed that the content of that conference has been perserved for our edification. Nee begins by reminding us that "God works with a definite goal in mind" (p. 4). A few pages later (p. 19) he explaining Romans 8:20, i.e., "the whole creation was subjected to vanity" after the rebellion of satan, we're told "'vanity' means failure of the result designed, losing the original purpose, having no more direction." The whole point of the book is to point people in the direction of God, the Creator's purpose for them. It is an encouraging read.
