Summary: Sending that Teenager Off to College?
Review: Ever notice how your teen likes to put some "distance" from Mom and Dad, right as you're getting ready to launch him or her into the world? With our firstborn heading off to college, we started to see that imposed separation coming on, right as we were trying to have that last steering influence. So many things to say, and yet so difficult to communicate. Mom and Dad's opinions didn't exactly get top priority.

A friend told me about this book, and I read it with interest. I realized it would be the ideal gift for our departing son. It says things in a considerate, balanced way, yet it's exactly the messages you want to give your departing child. I read it with a boy in mind, since our son was departing. I then re-read it and saw that it would be effective for a girl as well. Since we have two other daughters and another son, I ordered several copies.

This book is based on the principles of Biblical Christianity, but it's real practical and down-to-earth, not preachy. It was a delight to present it to my son as a gift.

Summary: Really helps!
Review: I bought this book for my mother on mother's day, the first away from home. I was on my own and not to far away, or so i thought. My mom would read it and then call me later to talk to me about it and what she thought. We were brought closer together than before> thanks

Summary: Preview the book before giving it as a gift
Review: Nicely organized with sentimental and practical messages that most parents would like to convey. Because there are so many references to conservative Bible teachings, I've decided not to give the book as a gift.

Summary: Great words!
Review: This is a great way to say important things before your child leaves home. We highlighted important parts and then wrote a personal message in the front and back of the book. Now our second child is leaving and we will do the same.
