Rating: 4 stars
Summary: quite good but more!
Review: Moltmann-Wendel's brief work recommends a more embodied, practical theology which counteracts the effects of historic Christian ambivalent attitudes about the body: on the one hand, the wholistic treatment of body and soul by Jesus as healer, and, on the other hand, the Stoic and gnostic views of a split between body and soul. Both men and women will find comfort in her views which seeks to respond to our culture's restrictive, highly stereotyped and body-conscious messages. The only limitations of this short book have to do with the author's reticence to delve more deeply.
