Summary: A Great Primer on Redemptive History
Review: I found this book to be very valuable in introducing me to the richness of redemptive history. Herman Ridderbos competently explores the New Testament to show how the kingdom of God is one of the essential themes in God's plan of redemption. This theme, he explains, is not a view that conflicts with the teaching of Calvin and the classic reformers, but a perspective through which we ought to view their teaching.

The book is concise, so it can be a bit tedious to read, but the benefit is well worth the work. He is able to communicate a truly massive theme in a very few, well-chosen words. This book is a great help in drawing bits of seemingly unrelated themes and doctrines together to create a stunning tapestry. I highly recommend it.
