Rating: Summary: Fantastic book - funny, honest, transparent and necessary! Review: I love this book because of the transparency of the authors. I am a worship leader and require anyone who is considering joining us in ministry to read this book. Jeremy and his wife were very traditional in their approach to church, music, God and loved everything in a nice neat box. God had a different plan. This book beautifully describes the process the Sinnotts went through from "frightened" to "intimate". The title sums it up - what's your motivation? Are you trying to impress someone with your musical talent or are you trying to bring other people in God's presence through worship? You will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Mandatory Reading for Local Church Ministry Review: Jeremy and his wife have done us a great favor in candidly sharing their anxiety and excitement as God totally moved in and changed their whole way of looking at ministry. The title really says it all - we minister to Jesus, an audience of One. If more people happen to be in attendance, Great!, but whether there is one, one hundred, or one thousand, our efforts should be directed 100% heavenward. This will help you train your gifted people to learn that gifting and anointing are two very different things! In fact, gifting can many times hinder the anointing because we get so caught up in how great we are that our fleshly pride just thrives in all the adoration. Guess you can tell I give this book to anyone considering ministry of any kind, but special emphasis on the arts and musicians.( )
