Summary: Beautifully soothing...
Review: Monotone? I loved listening to Mr. Jones' voice, and I would tend to listen all the way through and even understand it better than when I read it myself....and as for mispronouncing words, I have no doubt that there was training and practicing of unfamiliar words ahead of time, so any "mispronunciations" were just a matter of choice by the speaker, his OWN variation of some words which is very often allowable in our English language. I have always found his brand of accent/dialect very appealing, so yes, I was very happy to start listening to these CDs performed by an actor I've always admired. To each his own though, I guess......

Review: Mr. Jones uses a dead monotone voice, mispronouncing words, and does not read a complete sentence fluidly.
"And then......Jesus said to his......disciples, go and......find Mary...." etc etc
Drove me crazy and I'm sorry I spent so much money on this. I will look for another version and listen to the speaker before I buy!
