Rating: Summary: Engaging and thought provoking Review: This is Dr. Gaillardtz's first popular book, after publishing two theological texts on his speciality, the church....ecclesiology. Dr. Gaillardetz is no stranger to tackling ordinary life, however, being a regular contributor to magazines such as Commonweal, America, and US Catholic. In this book, Dr. Gaillardetz mixes his background as a reknown ecclesiologist with that of a faithful father and husband to write an engaging reflection on finding God in the ordinary experiences of 20th century life. He conflates social philosopher Albert Borgman's thought on techonology with a trinitarian model (LaCugna et al.) of God in the world. He then takes this trinitarian model and grounds it in the Christian community and liturgy to bring it to a practical level. This book is an easy-read--full of amusing stories and analogies with everyday experiences that will bring you to a thoughtful relection of your own spirituality and lifestyle. I highly recommend Dr. Gaillardetz's first "spritual" book.
