Summary: Historical Deception : The Untold Story of Ancient Egypt
Review: Despite almost daily archaeological discoveries in the Holy Land, a lack of historical evidence to support many of the stories found in the Old Testament has given rise to many diverse interpretations of biblical "history". Readers assign the stories to the category of "fables and myths", accept the stories as absolute truths, or try to find some common ground between the two arguments. This text presents soundly based historical information that is well-researched and clearly understandable relating to the chronology of biblical events and participants. Citing sources such as the Koran, the Torah, the Talmud, the Hebrew Massoretic text of the Old Testament, and the Greek Septuagint text of the Old Testament, along with a multitude of references to more modern historical works, the author provides a realistic and reasonable explanation for many biblical puzzles and apparent inconsistencies. Throughout the text the reader is provided with exact translations of specific words and phrases from various ancient languages - words and phrases that have been the root of many misunderstandings and misinterpretations of biblical writings. Whether the reader is deeply religious or firmly NON-religious, this book provides an energetic and scholarly discussion without recourse to blind beliefs of either a secular or non-secular nature. If for no other reason, it should be read to learn and understand the true scope of the conflicts and divergent arguments surrounding the events discussed in the Bible. Personally, I am deeply NON-religious, leaning heavily toward scientific proofs rather than religious faith as a basis for historical knowledge. I consider this book a valuable and indespensible addition to my library.

Summary: Historical Deception : The Untold Story of Ancient Egypt
Review: Finally, a book about ancient Egypt that does not just mimic the obtuse thinking and convoluted reasoning of standard egyptology. This book should be required reading for any historian, egyptologist, or archeologist. The companion book, "Exiled Egyptians", finalizes a definitive work on ancient Egypt. These are must reading for anyone interested in the beliefs, the culture, the people we call Egyptian.

Summary: Listen to the reader from Earth
Review: Gadalla is to history what Goebbels was to history. This mess must have been self-published (I gather that's true, based on his website), and a read of its pages should give hope to any aspiring author. If this stuff made it into print, nearly anything can.

Impressionable readers will no doubt like it, in the same way that impressionable readers (at first) liked Von Danniken's "Chariots of the Gods".

If you enjoy ancient history and chronology revisions, get "Ages in Chaos" or "Oedipus and Akhenaten" by Immanuel Velikovsky, David Rohl's "Pharaohs and Kings", or Peter James' "Centuries of Darkness".

Summary: Egypt Comes Alive...
Review: I came to read ths book, after a constant FEELING that what we take for granted as the truth about Ancient Egypt, is actually FAR from it.

It is fair to say that Moustafa has brought to Life the REAL Egypt. He has plenty of facts and figures to prove his belief too. What is more, he is a writer of BRILLIANT CLARITY, who turns the often stuffy subject of History into a RIVETING read.

I wish that this book could go on to great success, as it is a story that would(and should) REVOLUTIONISE our ideas of the Past.

Lest you think, I am easily impressed. It is worth noting that on occasion I do disagree with the Author. Particularly in his deduction that ATLANTIS did not provide the seeds of the Civilization we know as Ancient Egypt.

All in all however, here is a FIRST-RATE book, that will challenge your pre-conceptions, and force you to look again at one of the Great Mysteries...

Summary: Great for Beginners
Review: I found this book great for beginners. It provides a NON-Euro centric view of Egypt/Kemet. Too many books on Kemet written my those with religious agendas. Moustafa does a good job of informing the reader about Kemet in a quick, easy to read format. I do wish he had more information on Pre-Dynastic Kemet, but that info is hard to come by. His research on origins of David, Solomon, Moses, Jesus and the hoax called Exodus actually jives with much of my research on these mythical characters. Overall, the book shows Kemet in a different light than the most of us have been told by the Biblical stories. If one is more advanced in their research on Kemet - this book is not for you. Hotep!

Summary: a readable book
Review: The author ventures to provide a brief historical summary of Ancient Egypt. This is accomplished through five short easy-to-read chapters (one entirely devoted to Ancient Egypt and the Bible), drawing upon both modern and ancient sources. Simple religious terms and beliefs are elaborated. Aspects of Ancient Egyptian life explored include the pharaohs, their technology, art, literature, and society. The ideas invoked here are outside the mainstream of Egyptology conventionality.

Summary: Truth in Labeling
Review: This book is a complete(and yet, somehow revolutionary)reference to the true daily lives of the ancient Egyptians. What I mean when I say "revolutionary" is. . .well, it strays away from the beliefs of some historians and Egyptologists, then adds evidence which points out that what the book describes is true. But it compares history with religion at one point and it was quite touchy for me there, which is why I give this otherwise wonderful book but three stars.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: This book is highly speculative and misleading. The author omits important information to make his thesis work. I was looking for a work of solid scholarship...this is not it.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: leaves something to be desired
Review: This book might be useful to those who have no familiarity with new findings and theories about Egyptology and Egyptian civilization. It gives a brief overview of these new ideas and findings about Egypt's age, understanding about the pyramids, etc.

WARNING: I have seen advertisements in other sources that promote this book as a detailed study on the theory of Egypt's pre-historic antiquity, dating back 10,000, 20,000 or 30,000 years. Although the book touches on this topic, it doesn't go into it in great detail. There are probably better sources for this.

I would also point out that the book discusses theories about the "true" identity of some of the Egyptian pharaohs; i.e.; King David, Solomon, Jesus, etc. This is merely the latest in a long list of theories about Egypt, some of which are plausible, and some of which have no foundation (such as this). In my opinion it seems to be a compilation of useful, and not so-useful information about ancient Egypt.
