Summary: I Love This Book!
Review: A must have book - too many people think you can't have fun when comtemplating "the Voice". I plan on giving this book to all my friends for Christmas. No bathroom should be without it.

Summary: A Breath of Fresh Air for Even the Most Jaded Reader
Review: I just discovered this book again after first encountering "The Voice" in a Borders Bookstore more than a year ago. Even though I couldn't recall the title or author (and was kicking myself for it), the message of the book had such an impact on me that I was obsessed with finding it again.

It looks like a typical children's book with silly line drawings and large font text. But start at the first page and "The Voice" immediately draws you in, even if it's been decades since you've picked up a picture book. A true gem disguised as kiddie fare, any Shel Silverstein or Calvin & Hobbes fan will appreciate the witty illustrations and warm, wise humor in this simple yet profound book.

Summary: I don't understand
Review: I read this whole book, and it's about a big booming voice coming out from nowhere to tell a guy to do things. But we never find out where the big voice is coming from, or who it is. I hope the next book clears this up.

Summary: A simple, brilliantly presented story
Review: R. W. Metlen's timeless adult fable, The Voice, tells a simple, brilliantly presented story replete with quirky humor and spiritual insight. A man in a rowboat is fishing when a Voice says, "Follow Me". The man disregards the Voice. When the boat springs a leak, the man blames the voice. When he discovers that his boat is stuck and he cannot reach his oars to propel the boat, he fears that if he gets out of the boat to follow the Voice he will surely drown. The Voice again says, "Follow me" and "I love you". Finally the man takes the risk, steps out of his boat, and discovers he can walk upon the water. The Voice is a perfect little allegory completely accessible to readers of all ages and backgrounds, of the call to discipleship, a new endeavor, a new life style, or taking any other kind of personal risk to follow the commands and entreaties of God.

Summary: A captivating, simple message
Review: This book jumped out at me from the shelves of the bookstore. I read it while standing there and was truly moved by its simplicity and truth. It capsulates the act of God to reveal Himself to mankind and shows how silly we are when we refuse to accept His love and guidance. I intend on using this book to teach this great message of responding to God's voice to my class of first through third graders. Also, being a minister, I will use it to preach to the adult audience on Sunday morning. The writing style of The Voice is simple, just like the parables of Christ, but the message is life-changing and beautiful.
