Rating: Summary: A really straight-forward book Review: After purchasing this book on a whim, I read it and found it to be especially helpful for me. I now have a clearer grasp of several important Christian concepts. This writer explains things so clearly and delivers a message that everyone should hear.
Go buy this book, and then ask yourself, "What Is My Excuse?"
Rating: Summary: Wow! Powerful! Review: I chose this book because it looked interesting enough on the outside. Little did I know that it would contain a powerful message that would change my way of thinking. This author really writes in a straightforward stye that is refreshing and inspiring and the text seemed to soak into the rather tough skin surrounding my heart. Although I don't read a great deal of inspirational titles, I do encourage everyone to invest in this little book. It's that powerful, It could very well change your life, and brighten your entire outlook on the human experience.
Rating: Summary: Okay, this is excellent Review: I don't think I've read a better book lately on the subject of Christianity. This writer tackles a dozen myths with real clarity and Scriptual documentation, rightly dividing the Words of Life. It was written for common folks just like me --- people who are not particularly scholars yet they're interested in the fundamentals of the Christian faith. It is also a book that could be used as a great witnessing product for that soul that is searching for that missing piece in his or her life. It's a book to grow by, and it's very fundamental in its approach. A WINNER!
Rating: Summary: great book Review: I really liked this book and I recommend it highly. The writer does a good job explaining certain subjects -- and he offers logical answers to many of the most common beliefs held by non-believers in Jesus. I think this book should be offered in every Sunday School classroom, in every bookstore, and in every library. It's a realitively thin, easy to read book with tons of truth inside. I'm buying several copies for friends.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read! Review: I received this as a gift from the author himself, but instead of being biased, I think I was reading it with a critical eye. However, I found that I really did agree with it. I also, like many others, found it easy to read, but well written. I would highly recommend it for anyone, especially a group Bible study, for non-believers, or for anyone who needs to reaffirm their faith.
Rating: Summary: Good Book; Easy Read Review: I received this book as a gift the day after I had finished reading "How to Know God" by Deepak Chopra. Since I believe in the notion of synchronicity (i.e., that coincidences are more than random occurrences), I knew what I had to do. I immediately read the book, & I am glad I did! The author may be a lawyer but, unlike most lawyers I know, who "explain" simple concepts in wordy, complex ways, Mr. Crouser provides an interesting, easy-to-read, to the point discussion of an important subject.
This book is a must read for anyone who, like me, is trying to become a more spiritual person. If you are serious about your spiritual journey then you must explore the world's religions, regardless of your religious preference. This book has contributed to my spiritual journey by helping me think about Christianity in a simpler, more direct way than I did before I read it. You may not always agree with the author, but his opinions will make you think. This is a sign of a good book.
This book is an easy read because it is written in a conversational style & divided into short chapters (i.e., 12 myths about Christianity) that are subdivided into short sections. The book will be an excellent choice for Sunday School classes across the country.
In my opinion, this is a significant book on a serious and important subject. I look forward to sharing it with family & friends. I plan to give this book as a gift at Christmas time, when even the busiest of us stop to reflect on the meaning of our own lives, & the life of Jesus of Nazerath.
Rating: Summary: Everybody Should Read This! Review: Written in such a methodical, logical way - since the author is an experienced attorney - that makes a lot of sense, yet is deep enough not to bore even seasoned believers, this book does an excellent job of explaining the truths of Christianity versus some of the most common myths. This is a must-read for anyone who questions what Christianity is really all about - whether a non-believer who is searching for the meaning of life, a new convert who wants to learn more about the faith, or a long-time believer who wants to deepen their understanding of the Word. I highly recommend it for everyone!
