Summary: A Smooth Read
Review: I'm particular about fonts and double-spacings when I read books, especially non-fictions since the material can be a little too bulky. So it was with this book too. For this book, the formatting was good and the fonts were easy-on-the-eye. As I've read 2 out of the 3 books used in this compilation prior to my purchasing this volume, I'm already quite versed in its contents. Still, I found the flow of this compilation to be smooth, with each book gliding effortlessly into the next. This man, Roberts Liardon, writes just the way he preaches, with the same gusto and oompf. I give it 4 stars for its amazing ability to stir up a lethargic reader and for its very insightful information on the topics of "controlling powers" and how to break free from them. I didn't give it 5 stars because the writing style, alas, is not really of the attention-grabbing sort (Philip Yancey writes way better and with similar yet differently expressed passion). A good book to get if you feel your every decision is controlled by the people around you.

Summary: "Powerful and Informative"
Review: Roberts Lairdon is an annointed individual with an incessant calling for the army of Christ. As a young boy he experienced many visions that would lead up to his ministry, in which he now holds with godly-ordained authority. In "Breaking Controlling Powers", Lairdon expresses with clarity the proper way to use god-given authority in many different situations. He then proceeds to emphasize the importance of knowing whether or not you are a controller or if you are being controlled. I found his approach to the physical and spiritual realm in relation to "Controlling Powers" very well defined and justified. This book touched me, and allowed me to realize that I had been a little to controlling in many instances. It also provided itself as a tactical instruction manuel to thwart the enemy. So I urge you to come to know Mr. Lairdon, you will be a changed person.
