Summary: Not too enthusiastic about it but worth reading
Review: I have read this book but found it a little tiring, not grabbing ones attention and interest for the most part. The reason might be because of the style it was written in. There is some good information in and a couple of charts. Dr. Beall deals with every topic by asking a question and then answering it. At the back of the book it reads "without trying to defend any particular tradition, Catholic, Protestand or otherwise". In his trying not to defend or offend anyone he tends to avoid certain areas and dealt with them very vaguely, i.e. eternal security. For me personally it was not a pleasure reading (or studying) but I think it is a a book worth having when studying Bible doctrine.

Summary: A first rate primer for the new Christian.
Review: I read this book 18 years ago as a new Christian and found that through the years it has served me and the Christian community well. It teaches us the "fundamentals" of Christianity clearly and I still use it as a reference source frequently. It's great for a "new believers course". It truly lives up to its title because a solid christain foundation is imparted into a persons life--a foundation that will stand up against the stresses of this life. Highly recommended.

Review: Laying the Foundation is an excellent textbook for use in establishing a strong nonpartisan biblical foundation. It is an effective tool to use as a Christian High School Bible Program as well as an excellent First year College Bible text. Our churches use this book as a New-Converts course certifying Confirmation. The versatility of this book is boundless. Its midian position leaves opportunity for the teacher to elaborate points needing emphase. It is an excellent for resource for lecture encouraging open discussion. Biblical facts are systematically layed like bricks for a wall. The eternal benefit can be measured by the calming emotional peace felt in the soul. This book covers: Repentance and Abandoning Deadworks, Faith towards God, Doctrines of Baptisms, Laying on of Hands, Resurrection of the Dead, and Eternal Judgment in a thorough non-threatening manner. Every member of the body of Christ could benefit from this book. This is a book reading again and again. We need to know what we believe.
