Summary: Where has this book been!
Review: I heard about this book and learned it was on the Best seller list of Our Sunday Visitor. Over 20,000 copies sold since it came out in February! And I am not surprised. MANY people have a strong devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory! What I like about this book is that the Station Prayers have to do with MY deceased relatives! The words are so personal! Also, you can obtain an indulgence by saying these prayers and it gives you the exact details on how to do this. It makes the saying the Stations of the Cross so meaningful. And it is excellent for November (dedicated to the Holy Souls) and for Lent! I heard that the author is writing another devotional for the Holy Souls. I cannot wait! I hear she is an excellent speaker too! There is nothing like this anywhere!

Review: The Way of the Cross for the Holy Souls in Purgatory begins with a consideration of the orgin of the Way of the Cross and of the House in Ephesus to which John took Mary after the death of Jesus. The stations are illustrated by black and white photos of mosaic depictions of the stations. Each station contains a responsory, a meditative prayer with intentions for oneself and for the souls in Purgatory; after a cry for mercy the Our Father and Hail Mary are said. Two formulas of prayers for mercy on the souls in purgatory close out the station. The book concludes with additional texts - scriptural and devotional - for meditation and prayer as well as the requirements for indulgences related to the Way of the Cross.This is a useful special purpose Way of the Cross.
