Summary: Well Done - Perfect for the Busy
Review: Something uniquely great about this New Testament: the author manages to break the chapters down to ONE topic each (and still include the entire Scripture). For those of us who are busy, it's easy to get lost digesting too many topics when reading through Scripture. What is fantastic about this New Testament is that Arterburn precedes each section with an introductory question to set the background for the topic. Following the text, a probing follow up question is presented, provoking meditation, thought and prayer. Each reading should take no more than five minutes, yet succeeds in filling the reader's mind with Scripture. The New Living Translation aids the reader's ease of understanding. I recommend this both to the busy person who's schedule is challenged, and also to the person who's intimidated by reading Scripture in general. Excellent choice.

Summary: Perfect way to read the New testament in a year!
Review: The 5-Minute New Testament is a wonderful introduction to daily Bible reading. Having personally challenged myself to spend at least five minutes a day in scripture, I was excited to find this edition. It may seem silly, but seeing that big "5" on the cover every day seems to say to me "C'mon. You can spare five minutes!" The New Living translation is a breeze to read and the devotional sentence at the end of each day's reading is often a prayer starter. I eagerly recommend this handy little book to anyone who is wanting to gradually introduce consistent time with God into each day.

Summary: A great way to start the day.
Review: Though I found the volume slightly too large to carry around as a true paperback, the 5 Minute New Testament is a great book for keeping on the nightstand and getting your day off to a spiritually healthy start. There is an excellent "introduction" that highlights the methods used in translating the New testament and a list of scholarly contributors. There is also a subject index and a brief introduction to the passage of the day. Following each of the 365 passages, there is a short question or statement that is meant to provoke thought. Alternative meanings to words or passages are also noted. A very readable, clear and clean text.
